I continue to open Facebook once in a while, as I am a retard who exposes myself to the inner working of my unstable colleagues.
Every single time, I see colleagues posting about how they're terrified of the "Nazis and Nazi sympathizers rounding up trans folx and non-Americans" among other hysterics.
I truly appreciate these people acting like this, as it reminds me there's nothing of benefit to be gained from arguing with them.
An old colleague with whom I've argued (he was a Berniebro in '16 and remains a neverTrumper) made a somewhat rational post about how while he disagrees with Trump's policies vehemently, he thinks calling him a Nazi is doing a disservice and blowing things out of proportion.
To this, he was met with irate comments shaming him for downplaying the "fascist and unamerican actions Blumpf is taking", complete with a gay Canadian (redundant, I know) calling him a bigot and saying he knows THREE legal citizens who are being deported.
There's no arguing with these people, no common ground, no ability to consider if they've been manipulated. It's a tad freeing to realize it's not worth your time, just laugh react and/or never engage. It makes them equally upset.
