Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Joining the EU has been great for those eastern Eurpean countries
No, it hasn't. It has meant the killing of all local businesses in favor of European multinationals that now get to stranglehold the local economy.
It has meant being treated as second class citizens by western european faggots that see us as subhumans while they invite actual subhumans into their countries and worship them.
It has meant our natural resources being exploited by said westerners at great benefit to them and nothing to us.
It has meant our labor, skilled and unskilled leaving en masse to work for them, still getting paid like dogshit compared to what locals would make, but just enough to think they have it better over there. It has meant us being forced to take third world rapefugees that will never assimilate, because retarded westoid faggots have feel bads about their pasts.
Just because the westerners take the time to throw some bribes at certain politicians and departments, doesn't mean it has actually benefitted us. What we've undergone is basically neo-colonialism. The EU is France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Germany doing whatever the fuck they want and all of us being forced into it. Fuck the EU.

Ironically enough, giving 50% of everything to US and being colonized by uncle sam is a 50/50 gamble, it turned out great for Japan and South Korea, not so great for Afghanistan and Iraq. I'd take my chances though, because the other choice is just be dependent on EU, which is lol to say the least and lmao to be more precise.
It's 50% of everything in perpetuity in return for absolutely nothing. There's no reason to accept this.

The concern with these negotiations is that the US offers to drop all sanctions in return for Russian pinky promise of normalisation of relations, ultra super true arms control treaties, personal bribes investments in the US, and in return American companies invest in Russia. The EU and UA are presented with an unacceptable deal like that mineral nonsense, and the US government declares that they will make peace on their own and wash their hands of the war due to "European disrespect".
Europe and Ukraine can probably continue the war on their own as it is without American aid, but if the US stops suppressing the Russian economy and perhaps even starts to support it, who knows.

Why would the US agree to such a thing? The short answer is that Russia dominates the US through cognitive warfare.

We will see what we will see.

‼️ Yesterday, the Ilya Refinery and two oil pumping stations in the Russian Federation were hit, - General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

"As a result of a successful operation, the Ilya oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation was hit. A large-scale fire was recorded at the facility," the report says.

The Kropotkinskaya and Andreapol oil pumping stations, which provided fuel transportation for the needs of the occupation forces, were also attacked.

The stations were put out of service, which will significantly complicate the logistics of fuel supplies to the Russian Federation.

Apparently MBS wants Zelensky at the Saudi summit but either the US nor Russia wanted that, except for some separate meeting where Ukraine will be told what's what. Basically MBS was the only honourable and upright man in that room. The indications and signs aren't great with Rubio declare that if the war in Ukraine is resolved to Trump's satisfaction, sanctions must be lifted. This basically rewards terrorism, the slaughter of white people by the le 56 face horde sent by Moscow. Lavrov declared Russia did not attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure. They don't threaten it because they are worthlessly incompetent, but not from want of trying. Even tin pot dictator will see this as a sanction to invade if he feels he can get away with it. Now we must hope that there will be no deal where sanctions are lifted in return for Russia merely promising not to attack. Judging by the close of the opening phase of the war in 2014 and Georgia in 2008, Russia breaks its word immediately if it think it can get away with it.

Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated during a UN Security Council meeting on 17 February that Ukraine has "irrevocably lost" the territories occupied by Russia and must cede additional parts of oblasts.

Source: Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

Details: According to Nebenzya, Crimea and the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts have allegedly become part of Russia "forever". He also claimed that Ukraine must agree to a revision of its territorial borders as part of peace talks by surrendering areas of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts that are currently under Kyiv's control.

Nebenzya also emphasised that future Ukraine should become a neutral state, without membership in military alliances and without the right to join security blocs.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected any possibility of territorial concessions from Russia.

Quote: "Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed in June 2024 that Ukraine should withdraw its forces from and cede any unoccupied territory in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts to Russia, and Nebenzya appears to be resurrecting this demand." [N.B. Ukrainska Pravda doesn't recognise Putin as president - ed.]

To quote the ISW's Key Takeaways on 17 February:

  • The Kremlin reiterated its demands that Ukraine cede additional territory in Ukraine’s east and south to Russia and disband the Ukrainian military in the future while continuing to message that the Kremlin is unwilling to make territorial concessions itself in any future peace negotiations.
  • Lavrov and Nebenzya also categorically rejected European involvement in future peace negotiations and accused European countries of being aggressive toward Russia.
  • The Kremlin also appears to be resurrecting Putin's previous demands and information operations aimed at delegitimising Ukraine and its government in the eyes of the West – notably ahead of the 18 February Russia-US bilateral meeting in Saudi Arabia.
  • The Russian delegation participating in Russian-American talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 18 February does not include one of the members of Russian leader Vladimir Putin's innermost circle who had been reported as a likely negotiator.
  • Ukrainian forces continue to conduct drone strikes against Russian energy facilities supplying the Russian military.
  • Russian commanders continue to give orders for Russian forces to execute Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) on the frontline.
  • Unspecified sources told Bloomberg that Russia appears to be nearing a deal with the Syrian interim government to maintain a "reduced" military presence in Syria.
  • Russian forces advanced near Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Velyka Novosilka.
  • Russian occupation authorities continue to violate the Geneva Convention by conscripting civilians in occupied Ukraine to serve in the Russian military.

If the US entertain this nonsense, the jibes about Trump idolising Putin will be confirmed. Hopefully this will be laughed off, but that's looking less clear. Ukraine are hardly going to surrender to a failed turd world state that advances at a snail's pace at the cost of vast deaths. The problem is that some MAGA are unteachably ignorant and believe the Treason Tucker line that Moscow is winning overwhelming victories. We will see. We must be hopeful.

At least Macron is expanding his Paris summit to include Romania and the Czech Republic, the former bordering Ukraine and a major supporter. It's reasonably decisive response to a seditious Presidential candidate who gained popularity through manipulations in social media and machinations by certain political players also deserve respect. Bordering the war zone, indulgence is unaffordable. The US is distant and sheltered from all this. The Czech Republic is responsible for organising the initiative that keeps Ukraine supplied with artillery shells. Hopefully also this summit is not French grandstanding, but Macron seems a man who at least learns from mistakes even if he doesn't always admit it.

Dumb and lazy question, but where is Turkey in this? I doubt that the roaches would be happy with Russia expanding its Black Sea coastline, but I haven't seen anything from Erdogan regarding US' stance in the negotiations. The silence is bothering me as I'd expect him to at least make a non-committal statement. Do we have any brave steppe warriors on Kiwi Farms willing to share where the Neo-Ottoman Empire stands on these developments?

If he's the sanest man in the room, there is a problem.
MBS is not a moral man having no shame in having a dissident kidnapped and dismembered in the Istanbul embassy. It certainly reflects poorly on that meeting. Yet at this point, it's Russia making demands for gains it doesn't deserve, have or will have. Hopefully the Trump Administration discounts these insane demands for basically half of Ukraine. The control a contested one fifth with Ukraine making efforts in all the criminally occupied oblasts.

Erdogan met Zelensky and pledge support for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Now that isn't super strong as variously Red China and Kazakhstan (who did allow a pro Ukraine protest which is notable for an absolutist dictatorship) have said the same and haven't recognised the pretended annexations. Now the Kazakh Pres did say so in a way calculated to insult Putin at a summit in St Petersburg and turned down a Russian award, but it's something. Erdogan does play both sides profiting from Russian sanctions busting but supporting Ukraine diplomatically and providing some weapons like the Bayraktar (which was later rendered mostly irrelevant by Russian jamming efforts AFAIK).

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that Ankara will uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst discussions on a peaceful resolution to the war with Russia.

Source: Turkish media outlet Anadolu citing Erdoğan at a press conference following his meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ankara, as reported by European Pravda

Details: Erdoğan emphasised that Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty "are very important to us and we have always expressed Türkiye’s respect for them".

Quote: "In the ongoing process, Ukraine’s territorial integrity is particularly important to us. Its sovereignty is also indispensable for us."

More details: Erdoğan also reiterated that Ankara advocates for a swift "peace" in Ukraine.

During the same press conference, Erdoğan once again proposed Türkiye as a platform for potential "peace" negotiations.

Background:

  • On 18 February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Kremlin aide Yuriy Ushakov met with a US delegation in Saudi Arabia. The US was represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Witkoff.
  • Following the US-Russia talks, the US State Department stated that the delegations had agreed to "remove irritants" in bilateral relations and continue working on preparations for negotiations regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine.

So, Erdogan seems to have Ukraine's back on this, but we'll see. All I can say is this war has created strange bedfellows.

Turns out some heads did get popped:

Eight Russian drone operators have lost their eyesight due to the remote detonation of FPV goggles supplied by volunteer organizations.
This private information is unavailable to guests due to policies enforced by third-parties.

From the Telegram report:
💥 8 FPV drone operators were blinded.

The Ukrainian special services continue to carry out subversive work within the Russian army, using volunteer organizations .

At the beginning of February, a series of sabotage attacks occurred in various units of the Russian Armed Forces, which consisted of remotely detonating goggles for FPV drones.

In the period January-February 2025, a number of public organizations sent about 80 sets of FPV glasses "Skyzone Cobra" to various units of the Russian Armed Forces . All organizations received the goods from the same person , on the terms of gratuitous assistance for the Russian Armed Forces.

On February 4, the first case of an improvised explosive device hidden in glasses was recorded in the Belgorod Region. The serviceman received injuries to his face and eyes. From February 4 to 7, 7 more cases of devices exploding were recorded in the Kursk, Luhansk and Donetsk Regions.

Explosive C-4, a detonator and a battery were found inside the FPV goggles . The device is triggered when the cooling fan in the goggles is started.

At the moment, a search and seizure of the “mined” glasses is underway.

The sender of the parcels left the Russian Federation on February 3 on a Moscow-Istanbul flight.

Do you have any message for Ukrainians who, after three years of fighting, might feel betrayed or disappointed at not having a seat at these initial talks in Saudi Arabia?
Well, I think I'm really disappointed in what's happened. I've been watching this for three years. It's a war that would have never happened if I was President. And I've been watching these, you know, people being killed at levels that you've rarely seen, not even close, since the Second World War. And I'm very disappointed. I hear that, you know, they're upset about not having a seat. ,Well, they've had a seat for three years and a long time before that. This could have been settled very easily. Just a half-baked negotiator could have settled this years ago, without, I think, without the loss of much land, very little land, without the loss of any lives, and without the loss of cities that are just laying on their side, you have those magnificent golden domes that are shattered will never be replaced. You can't replace them. Thousand-year-old domes that are so beautiful, you can't replace that. The whole civilization has changed because of what's so... When they're worried about not being seated, I mean, somebody that should have gone in and made a deal a long time ago.

More word salad from the Retard in Chief. The only coherent line is "Russia good, Europe bad."
"Ukraine should have surrendered immediately" is quite the statement. Also his usual inane references to the killing and destruction. His conception of the world is that of an idiot child.

Someone on twitter said he might manage to lose the Cold War 35 years after it has been won, and yeah, he is trying his best.

Again I hope my impression is wrong and that the Americans are not planning an oafish Munich surrender of Ukraine to an exhausted Russia now almost run out of tanks. If a surrender is planned (the details suggest giving Russia more than they could ever have hoped), Ukraine will have to reject it. Trump's rage will be volcanic. Again, hopefully it's otherwise. It would be the act of minions, a strong power grovelling before a non power.

Yeah, it's quite a statement about the extreme incompetence of the Americans that they cucked out to every Russian demand and split the coalition opposing Russia to end up being completely alone with some extremely capable and intelligent Russian diplomats.
The Americans are inexperienced, have no knowledge of the situation, and are conditioned with ideological positions they have lifted wholesale from Russian disinformation campaigns.

Their president is a senile 80IQ lunatic who thinks Putin is his best friend and whose position seems to be that Russia will be a close ally against China, while the EU are evil anti-American forces of darkness.
IMO this view is substantially based on the prevalence of accurate appraisals of his own person on the continent, which he cannot bear.
Every time they try to push some braindead MAGA agitprop on Europeans, American leaders' already godawful ratings in European polls decrease even more.

Man if we only had some sort of comparatively recent example where people tried giving up land to appease an expansionist asshole and get peace (in our time)....

From what I've seen, this isn't peacetalks. This is a frame work discussion to see if Russia is ready to accept terms that Ukraine will be brought in for.
MBS wants Ukraine there so they get credit for negotiating a peace.

Rubio declare that if the war in Ukraine is resolved to Trump's satisfaction, sanctions must be lifted.
What does "resolved to Trump's satisfaction mean"? And when must they be lifted?

Or let me try this another way
"If Russia removes all military forces from ukrainian territory and relinquishes claims of sovereignty, sanctions should see a staged roll back within 12 months"
Don't you think that sounds reasonable?

Non-TDS retard translation:
Someone should have taken a hard line on Putin. They didn't and now its a mess. I'm the greatest.

When he says " Just a half-baked negotiator could have settled this years ago, without, I think, without the loss of much land, very little land, without the loss of any lives..." that sounds to me like Crimea, or at the very least the Naval Facilities, are up for turn over. This allows Trump to claim that he got Russia to give up all their invaded territory from the 2022 invasion, and just say Crimea was Obama's fault.

John Simpson of the BBC conveys his impression of awkward, embarassed Americans and exultant Russians who cannot believe they could be now grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.
John Simpson has TDS so of course that'll be his interpretation.
"Trump is “just the kind of person I don’t like”. They have not met: “I’m rather kicking myself, because I could have gone to see him loads of times, but I just thought, you know, he’s so distasteful.”

I'm just seeing Rubio not happy having to look at the Camera.

mother of god, the Europroles unhappy about American leaders. How will we ever recover.

>No US peacekeepers

>Russia wants America to rescind the 2008 Bush era promise of letting Georgia and Ukraine into NATO eventually
>Deal to get half of Ukraine's natural resources went unsigned because Zelenskyy rightly saw through it as a shit neo-colonial deal

Honestly, what's the fucking play at this point? People tend to justify Trump's retarded foreign policy moves as "Art of the deal 5D chess mastermind", but this isn't like bullying countries with tariffs in order to get concessions out of them, this is just folding to every Russian demand before negotiations even properly begin. There was relative optimism that stuff would go better since early appointments like Keith Kellogg and signals Trump would be willing to put more pressure on Russia to bring them to the negotiating table. However, much like any good crypto scam Ukraine and Europe got rugpulled last week for no discernible geopolitical reason. It does genuinely feel like we suddenly live in some Jackson Hinkle, MAGA-Zigger world where Trump is doing WW1 era pacts with Russia to destroy le woke. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if FSB got their hands on some Epstein island Trump footage on and decided to call in their favor.

Vance (who Trump mocks and doesn't consider as a possible successor) made an oafish and impudent speech, and quite stupid given the threat from Moscow. Trump is a lunatic in a way. That's how the works, but I wouldn't say he's senile yet, altho decline is clear. Given Russia's hybrid warfare of flooding social media, a degree of suppression is needed whether of the polluted propaganda or of those fooled by the nonsense. Now honestly I don't Trump is that naïve regarding China. For instance there have been friendly gestures to Republic of China - Taiwan like weapon sales (a standard thing) and editing the State Department line on Taiwan. However, I do get a bad impression that Trump thinks Putin is something he can make a deal with and seems unaware that all he can do is lie. We will see, as usual.

Please post the actual peace deal that lays this out, and not just Redditors fear mongering.

(also Georgia in NATO is completely over at this point for the forseeable future due to the Sovietskeptics having been subplanted and the Russiaboos having taken over. Sort of like Chechnya, ex-SSR leadership flopping back to soviet lapdog. Blame Putin, Sarkozy, Dubya, Merkel, Obama in that order.)

I used to not buy into the whole "Trump is a Russian puppet" hysterics. But after today's news, I'm having second thoughts.
What news? What solid information about terms has come out that isn't Journalist speculation?

oafish and impudent speech
He called out the EU for refusing to fund their own defense and soviet-style attempts to purge internal political dissent, shifting the burden of their defense to the US while sending trillions to Russia, continuing to buy Russian gas, and putting tariffs on US imports.

Oafish, impudent but ain't no one said "inaccurate" yet.

Rumors that the EU is prepping a 700 Billion dollar aid package.
For comparison, that would dwarf the amount already sent. And eclipse US contributions by 7 to 1. More, if you don't count what was sent to weapons manufacturers.
Curious to see the lethal aid vs. Premarin pills breakdown, but if that's more than a rumor, absolutely amazing.

If the worst comes to pass, Ukraine could just ignore US. They still have other allies for the time being. What would Trump do in that scenario? Advocate for other countries to stop supporting Ukraine so they could concede it to Putin?
Saying that would be a bad look doesn't even begin to describe it.
It's also incredibly disrespectful to treat it as if the whole thing could be resolved without Ukraine having a say in it, after everything they went through. It's expected of Russia, but US is a supposed ally.

It's all hypothetical for the time being, as talks are essentially in their infancy. Can't say I ever was particularly confident in America's resolve, though. The fact that there's no hard stance against Kremlin shows how little they understand the situation, and the likelihood they choose appeasement route is significant.
Even with sanctions lifted, it would take time for Russia to recuperate, Putin thought they were ready in 2022, so they'll have to regain at least that level of strength to try again. Which means that whatever happens next wouldn't be this administration's problem.
Vatniks are still going to gloat regardless, even if it's the hated US that handed them the "win".
