This shit was public and would be exploited already
You are retarded. The leak was like 5 years ago. During those 5 years most of the older generation of cheat developers of left - the developer behind Nullcore is busy shooting up drugs in Russia, the developers behind cathook stopped and their Github got taken down, every open source cheat you could find on unknowncheats had people in the issues section asking for after they updated to 64 bit, the only person who is really still there and developing is the guy behind Lmaobox. Most of what is out now is made by people who have been in the TF2 community for only a couple of years but have a background in Source from developing CS cheats.
If anyone was actually around during that time and stayed, they probably kept exploits and shit to themselves and friends - just like what happened in CSGO when people found several server crashers.
they're almost identical with some new additions made
Can still be exploited retard, unless they literally rewrote every single line of code to function differently, which is impossible since there was apparently only one developer at the time, there is still shit that can be used from the code that can be exploited.
Team Comtress 2 on GitHub for months
Most developers are fucking retards who are lazy, do you think they are going to actively search line by line through however many lines of code there are? They'd probably only do it if they learnt of a possible exploit being used, but even then it would probably be limited to a couple of files. But that's assuming that they are aware of the leak.
You are a dumb nigger.
Keep holding onto your hopes and dreams of this game once again giving you the feeling that it once did when it peaked, it will never be the same and nothing you or a rag tag group of retards can do will ever fix it, it will always meet the same fate.

Dude you're like 12 years too late to be trying to troll people with mlp references.
Kiwis who were playing TF2 back in 2010-2012 will understand how utterly fucking infested to the brim that game was with ponyfuckers, TF2 unfortunately had the unholy combo of Source Engine modding+4chan+DeviantArt+reddit+YTP that made it ripe for brony autists to infest the community.

It was just fucking impossible to not stumble upon them back in those years, and the "Ponyville" servers were one of the most popular custom game mode servers at the time, imagine how much pedophilia and grooming shit that is now lost to history occurred on the Ponyville and TF2 Brony circles.

Some years ago I was watching a random TF2 gameplay or griefing video recorded in 2011, and I think that there were ponyfuckers literally fucking ERPing on the game chat, talking about their "cutie marks" and shit, ponyniggers out, furniggers in :(

If anyone was actually around during that time and stayed, they probably kept exploits and shit to themselves and friends - just like what happened in CSGO when people found several server crashers.
And? Why the fuck does any of this matter to the topic at hand? If the exploits were held off, it wouldn't matter whether the TF2 code was released in this update.
Can still be exploited retard, unless they literally rewrote every single line of code to function differently, which is impossible since there was apparently only one developer at the time, there is still shit that can be used from the code that can be exploited.
Again, if there are existing exploits, none of this matters.

Okay, so if people weren't going through the code to find exploits, what difference does this release make?

Go play on your Xbox 360, retard. I enjoyed the game before and I still enjoy the game now.

This shit was public and would be exploited already
Also majority of TF2 cheat developers also made cheats for CSGO. So the point of them hoarding and making exploits private is relevant since it indicates that there still exploits within the code that can be used today, it doesn't matter how old it is or how long it's been out there, in fact you could probably still find something from the 2007 source code.
it wouldn't matter whether the TF2 code was released in this update.
So if there's still exploits that people might be hoarding and you give a wider access to the code base of TF2 to fresh eyes who have experience with coding CSGO cheats, which I will remind you is known for keeping exploits private, what do you think happens?
Again, if there are existing exploits, none of this matters.
But according to it would have been exploited already, oh right you genuinely have no clue what you are talking about. Also it does matter, do you not remember what you literally said about the code?
they're almost identical with some new additions made
So there is new code? Code that could possibly be exploited. Plus the fresh eyes on the source code.
what difference does this release make?
That it gives an arguably more up to date version of the 2013 SDK which will more than likely have certain fixes compared to the one from the leak, fresh eyes, plus now that it's open for anyone to read and isn't a leak anymore platforms like Unknowncheats will allow people to activly discuss the code and publically release exploits that were found from the code, which they couldn't before since they had rules against source code gathered from leaks, plus with the source code being released you can now quite easily develop cheats (which oh my god, who would have guesses that this would have happened, surely valve will end up doing something!).
I enjoyed the game before and I still enjoy the game now.
Nice Larp, try again F2P.

The idea of community mods is really promising until you realise discord trannies will be the ones making them
They tried that shit with the Engineer cosmetic sneaking in the flag, though you had to basically noclip to see it. Thankfully, it's since been updated to remove that shit. At the request of Valve, too.

So that's it. With this and Comic 7 I feel a lot of wrongs have finally been made right. Comic 7 was Valve saying they were finished with the story, and this to me is them saying they're done with the game now. Out of the 17 years TF2 lived, about 6 of those were spent by it's community in denial that it was over. Personally, I never wanted another update, I cared more about the story that they started and didn't have the common courtesy to finish. Outside of the context of the comics I'm glad it's finally been said in plain English so everyone can stop talking about it now. Shows over folks, go home. Or don't, because now you can run your own show. In a way, this is just the same situation that happened when Carmack let people mod Quake, and look what that gave us. However, I think it will be long, long while before we see anything worth following come out of this. The community needs to wring out the bad apples before we see the real deal folks with passion and creativity get to work. I always wanted to make a HL-esque singleplayer game with TF2's content. Now I have no excuse not to do it.

Something else I found very interesting, and to prove God's timing is real, was that Valve rereleased the trailer for the Engineer Update almost a week after Jungle Inferno (which will for sure be the final major update) dropped. The video ends with the tagline "It's your turn" and now with the context of today I can confidently finally say goodbye to this game I love. The tagline for the video wasn't a slogan, it was a early heads-up people disregarded for 7 years. It's a shame I came in right when it ended at around Blue Moon, but as they say "Even though you were late to the party, you were still the life of it." Anyways, despite all this I know I'll find myself back in Dustbowl one day to get one more frag. See you on the point, maggots.

TF2 fans whenever Valve releases a non-slop update (it means Valve is done with the game):

I'm tired boss.

10 years of constant updates is more than enough. Sure maybe we need some balance tweaks here and there, but if that doesn't include valve stopping the Workshop content farm from producing bad maps and gaudy cosmetics for every 2 half's of the year along with it, I don't want another update.

I'm tired of this gay "Valve is done with the game, time to say goodbye!!!" shtick.

You're a newfag that joined during Blue Moon when Valve effectively dropped the game, what do you have to say goodbye to? You've been playing on borrowed time, getting scraps while unbeknownst to how good things used to be.

These small significant tidbits like the 7th comic and Source SDK release are not going to suddenly absolve them of their sins. No wrongs have been made right because they decided to go a bit beyond the bare minimum (of which all the technical work was done by a single contractor and the comic on spare time both after years of limbo); and they will never be truly finished with the mangled puppet that is TF2 until CS2 fucking dies.

Nobody should be making peace with TF2 until the piece of shit that is Casual matchmaking is wiped from existence, the very thing that squarely placed TF2 in the state it's in now; and even then if and or when it happens, we should never forget what they put us under for so many years (wholesome stockholm syndrome 420).
Also if you think Valve reuploading a higher quality version of an unmodified update video from 2010 after Jungle Inferno was an early sign of them calling it quits, you're autistic nigga.

How many of you people actually watched the Zesty video before dropping your steaming hot take into this thread? Half the video is dedicated to (rightfully) fellating TF2 because, at its best, it doesn’t force anyone to play any way. A sweaty cunt and a retarded friendly can occupy the same server and still have a good time. The game doesn’t force you or anyone else to play in any particular way. The game wasn’t great because it “owned those heckin chud compfags!” It was great because it didn’t make everyone else play like them, or them play like everyone else. And then MyM dropped and nuked that delicate balance.

As for quickplay, there’s no romanticizing of it. It really just was that good of a system. Server browsers were an aged format even in 2007.

Its really just gonna be tf2 classic comes to steam and divides the player base even more from the base game, seeing that tf2 classic has decided to diverge from being a "classic" game at all just ruins the whole thing. kek maybe all the trannies will migrate to classic to escape the massive up swing of edge lords recently, a man could only hope.

Gonna be a very interesting digital equivalent of the Scramble for Africa over the next few months as trannies, furries, fucktards and faggots all race to get a dominant piece of this new community built TF2 pie.

Will Uncle Dane ensure that no-no words are now an immediate permanent ban? Will backpack.tf expand their bot jewery empire to ingame? Who will be the first ‘leader’ to be found grooming children? I can hardly wait

The bigger change from this patch is that the game is now included in the Source 2013 SDK making it effectively open for modders and developers, since previously the only copies of the source code were old leaks.

tranny janny being useful for once
Valve isn't perfect, but EA, Ubisoft, Rockstar, or Activision would never do something as based as opening the game's SDK.

They'd either make the game inaccessible or rerelease an inferior "remastered edition" at full price.

>you're not getting fuckass angry, so you don't really care
Either add me to ignore or quit your fucking bellyaching.
No, he’s right. This wishy-washy faggotry needs to stop. “Well I sure would like if they’d update it but, cmon guys, they don’t have to” shut up queer. If you like something you get angry when it’s neglected and abused, no matter how old it is. “Let’s just be glad they’re doing anything!” Is the attitude that will have us living in pods and eating the bugs one day. So my ultimatum to you is either act like you give a fuck or stop pretending to like the game.
