You think the Coen brothers got that line from Daddy Bush?

Yes. The Big Lebowski literally opens with news footage from the era in order to set the period of the film. So The Dude is just repeating some stuff he saw on television.

You will now rewatch The Big Lebowski and the entirety of the Coen brothers filmography.

To reiterate my minor infuriation on this subject attached is a webm of an opening portion of The Big Lebowski where it is explicitly spelled out.

Stephen Miller just gave the press a civics less. The President is democratically elected. Unelected beaurocrats serve at the will of the President.

It is true that many of the people in this room for four years failed to cover the fact that Joe Biden was mentally incompetent and was not running the country.

It is also true that many people in this room who have used this talking point that "Elon is not elected" fail to understand how the government works. So I'm glad for the opportunity for a brief civics lesson.

A President is elected by the whole American people. He's the only official in the entire government that is elected by the entire nation. Right? Judges are appointed. Members of Congress are elected at the district or state level. Just one man, and the Constitution, Article II, has a clause known as the Vesting Clause and it says "The Executive power shall be vested in a President", singular.

The whole will of democracy is imbued into the elected President. That President then appoints staff to then impose that democratic will onto the government.

The threat to democracy, indeed the existential threat to democracy, is the unelected beaurocracy of the lifetime tenured civil servants who believe they answer to no one. Who believe they can do whatever they want without consequence. Who believe they can set their own agenda no matter what Americans voted for.

So Americans vote for radical FBI reform and FBI agents say they don't want to change. Or Americans vote for radical reform on our energy policies, but EPA beaurocrats say they don't want to change. Or Americans vote to end DEI—racist DEI—policies and lawyers at the Department of Justice say they don't want to change.

What President Trump is doing is he is removing federal bureaucrats who are defying democracy by failing to implement his lawful orders, which are the will of the whole American people.

Let me preface this by saying that I appreciate the majority of you who are constantly filling up the thread with useful stories, on topic discussion, and other relevant information.

To the rest - a handful of niggers who take any and all opportunity to sperg about the Ukraine war; consider this a final warning. This thread is about America, not whether you like Zelensky's or Putin's dick better. Be on topic, or kill yourselves.

Thank you.
What about the Byzantine history posting, is that ok? We all already know which ancient Roman emperor Trump is, but I need to know which general of the Eastern Roman Empire is Vance.

Only in Trump's America will you get niggers to cheer for a street-shitter.

Trump out here solving racism on accident.

Turns out that glowniggers were the real enemy all along we could all rally against.

Also side note I checked in the Elon Musk thread and I’m pretty sure they went insane.
