Isn't that the selling point of protestant Christianity, sola fide cancels out work? You can live a life of debauchery, but still go to heaven because you believe in god. The idea is basically that Christ paid for our sins, and because no human can be perfect enough to pay for their sins, he did it for us. I personally believe in salvation through faith rather than works, but some people use that belief to justify bad works because they have faith rather than doing good works.

I'm assuming you have some knowledge of American Christianity, but Jack Chick is what we call a fundamentalist. He believed that basically everyone that didn't take a 100 percent literal interpretation of everything in the Bible was doing it wrong and going to hell. He thought Catholics and the pope were the antichrist and had other extreme views. The people celebrating the pope's sickness are most likely Protestants who see the liberal Pope Francis's views as blasphemous.

a) Ukraine isn't a European country, most of it is a Russian province with a mixture of Polish, Romanian, and Hungarian villages on the border
b) NATO occupied Ukraine first and started building military infrastructure there, then started a civil war in 2014
c) Moldova will soon pass a referendum to willingly join Russia, now that USAID is no longer funding NGOs there to interfere with their elections

Soon none of those will be America's problem. If Europeans want to fight Russia, they're welcome to try.

No, the idea of protestantism is that grace comes before works and therefore works are a sign of grace. In reality it's a distinction without a difference - you're supposed to live a godly life and perform good works throughout it as a manifestation of your grace. Deathbed conversions are not necessarily a get-out-of-free-jail card and one could just as readily argue that one who lived a depraved life and simply converted at the end is not indicative of grace. Most serious protestants would argue that the status of one's grace is only known to God so the best we can do is choose to live in a godly way right now and have faith that we will be rewarded, and so a deathbed conversion is better than nothing.
