US Catholic bishops sue Trump admin over suspension of refugee program funding - "For decades, the US government has chosen to admit refugees and outsourced its statutory responsibility to provide those refugees with resettlement assistance to non-profit organizations like USCCB," the lawsuit states.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration after funding was halted for its refugee resettlement program. The lawsuit is based on the Refugee Act of 1980, under which the USCCB has worked with the government to resettle more than 930,000 refugees.

"For decades, the US government has chosen to admit refugees and outsourced its statutory responsibility to provide those refugees with resettlement assistance to non-profit organizations like USCCB," the lawsuit states. "But now, after refugees have arrived and been placed in USCCB’s care, the government is attempting to pull the rug out from under USCCB’s programs by halting funding."

Shortly after President Donald Trump took office, the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration issued a suspension letter for the program. According to the lawsuit, USCCB has not received reimbursement from the State Department up to Jan. 24, despite assurances in the letter that it would. The conference is also arguing that the administration’s decision to cut off congressionally approved funding is illegal, according to Fox News.

USCCB has stated that the freeze has forced it to issue layoff notices to 50 employees in Migration and Refugee Services, more than half of its staff.

“The Catholic Church always works to uphold the common good of all and promote the dignity of the human person, especially the most vulnerable among us,” said USCCB president Archbishop Timothy Broglio, according to the Associated Press. “That includes the unborn, the poor, the stranger, the elderly and infirm, and migrants.”

“The conference suddenly finds itself unable to sustain its work to care for the thousands of refugees who were welcomed into our country and assigned to the care of the USCCB by the government after being granted legal status,” Broglio added.

Vice President JD Vance, a Catholic convert, has previously criticized the bishops' conference for resettling “illegal immigrants” to receive millions in federal funding, a reference to the resettlement program. In an interview last month, Vance argued that the conference “has, frankly, not been a good partner in common sense immigration enforcement that the American people voted for."

I'm am advanced scholar and theologician
I never claimed this. At best I know a bit more than the average casual layman but I'm definitely not a scholar or a theologian. Not that it matters since you know less than nothing and you're clearly just trying to waste everyone's time, hence why I'm just replying to you with memes now.
I'm sorry you've found out your soul is canaanite in spirit and God hates you personally.
God loves everyone, even you. The fact that you think otherwise is very clearly a projection of your own self loathing. I pray you find peace.

Anyway back to the memes.

I never claimed this. At best I know a bit more than the average casual layman but I'm definitely not a scholar or a theologian.
Yes you have, unfortunately for you I am both scholar and theologian which is why it's so easy for me to point out how full of shit you are. Which is why you stopped responding because you find my questions unanswerable without contradicting your programming. Another form of pilpul, if you can't answer just avoid it.
Not that it matters since you know less than nothing and you're clearly just trying to waste everyone's time, hence why I'm just replying to you with memes now.
No I'm engaging in deep philosophical and religious debate, unfortunately it's with a simpleton, which is why you find this all so difficult. I can see why it was so easy for jews to take over the church though.

God loves everyone, even you. The fact that you think otherwise is very clearly a projection of your own self loathing. I pray you find peace.
God loves everyone as his children, that doesn't mean he doesn't understand their hearts nor what true justice is. There's a reason he wanted the Canaanites destroyed. So you persist in passing children through the fire with your own actions and beliefs and absolve yourself because you were told to.

Yes you have
Where?

I am both scholar and theologian
No you're not. I have never seen you posting in the theology thread or making any statements here in good faith. You've gathered talking points to use as attacks and you're quite full of yourself for it. I suspect you might be a teenager.

Which is why you stopped responding because you find my questions unanswerable
To be quite honest with you its not that your questions are unanswerable, its that they're painfully stupid and asked in blatantly bad faith. You're not genuinely curious about religion, you're openly hostile to it. It's not worth the time it would take to reply to you seriously since you're not actually open to the fact that you're wrong.

Now you might see this and thing "well neither are you!" and to a degree you'd be right. Nothing you say or do will convince me to stop believing in Christ and doing my best to follow his word, which is clearly your goal here. A lot can be discerned about someone when you know their goal, and when your goal is the ruination of souls through apostasy you're at best a useful tool of satan and at worst a willing ally.

If you want to prove me wrong answer these two questions simply and honestly.

Do you believe in Christ?

If you said yes then which Church do you believe is correct?

No you're not. I have never seen you posting in the theology thread or making any statements here in good faith.
I guess you should read it again, you fucking retard. You assume things so you can justify your own ignorance. You are a pathetic child.
You've gathered talking points to use as attacks and you're quite full of yourself for it.
I've gathered simple criticisms that strike directly at the heart of Catholicism. Of course I am full of myself for it. For you it's champion, find yourself unable to respond, only handwave away why you can't.
I suspect you might be a teenager.
I suspect you might be assuming more things to justify your own cognitive dissonance.
There you go again feigning modesty and humility
To be quite honest with you its not that your questions are unanswerable
Then why can't you answer them? You've dodged for hours posting memes. You argue like a jew because you are jewish in thought.
its that they're painfully stupid and asked in blatantly bad faith.
So? I have no problem playing along with your ridiculous diversions, but yet again you find yourself unable to reply in kind.
You're not genuinely curious about religion, you're openly hostile to it.
Yes I am hostile to your catholic dogma that has sided with its own worst enemy against God's teaching.
. It's not worth the time it would take to reply to you seriously since you're not actually open to the fact that you're wrong.
The hypocrite says
Now you might see this and thing "well neither are you!" and to a degree you'd be right. Nothing you say or do will convince me to stop believing in Christ and doing my best to follow his word, which is clearly your goal here.
So close to self awareness yet do far. You don't believe in God as I've exposed, you believe in catholic dogma and tradition, not the word of god.
A lot can be discerned about someone when you know their goal, and when your goal is the ruination of souls through apostasy you're at best a useful tool of satan and at worst a willing ally.
There you go again assuming things to protect your mindless acceptance of the synagogue of satan.
If you want to prove me wrong answer these two questions simply and honestly.
It proves nothing but I'll play your game so you can cry about my answers.
Do you believe in Christ?
Yeah
If you said yes then which Church do you believe is correct?
None of them are because none put forth the teachings of Christ. Now you can go back to posting memes about how you totally don't love jews over God.

None of them are because none put forth the teachings of Christ.
Finally we get to the heart of the matter. Pride.

You think you understand the teachings of Christ better than anyone else in history. You've got it right and everyone else is wrong.

Genuinely I hope you learn humility and find peace, and I'm done replying to you here, we're both shitting up the thread at this point. If you seriously want to discuss theology then come over to the theology thread and engage with the rest of us. I'd be particularly interested to see how you interact with our other resident nondenoms.

Nah it's that you are a coward and can't stand up for yourself.
You think you understand the teachings of Christ better than anyone else in history. You've got it right and everyone else is wrong.
So prove me wrong then.

There you go, being a cathcuck yet again. All you do is retreat to your stronghold of other Catholics, because you've got nothing of your own to offer. I've already posted in your thread and stopped because you argue like jews about nothing consequential.
Sometimes you can just tell from the way a person talks that they have a deep relationship with God and that becoming more like Christ is a true priority in their life. Not this nigga lol.
I've already exposed the pope himself with being in league with the devil, what more do you want? That's the fun part. I destroy them with their very words and all he can respond with is Jewish pilpul. That's called doing the lords work nigga. Maybe learn it some time.

Honestly, I try really hard not to judge something so deep from something so shallow. I've done more than my fair share of shitposting and trolling, so who am I to cast stones ya know?

That nigga better repent.

The irony is you attempting to call me out when you cathcucks put your own hellbound heart above gods. We see the fruit of the catholic church for 2 millenia and it's nothing but rotten. You learn nothing because your based on nothing.
That nigga better repent.
For what exactly?
Amen, as should we all.

When it comes to repenting sins, beware the pitfall of thinking yours arent so bad because others are worse. We are all sinners.

best--finding a way to keep up with the times and maintain its grip on power.
Catholic influence and power cratered after Vatican II though.
Vatican II was punishment for not violently resisting against Mussolini and Hitler

man, at least muslims and even jews can be clever. You're just pathetic. Being a heretic is one thing, but catholics always have this weakness about them lol
God loves everyone, even you.
Isaiah 63:1, pagan. Oh wait, catholics aren't into scripture or the words of christ, only what their priests and "church fathers" say

A prayer from a snake cultist means very little. Which one of your false prophets and gods will you pray to?

Jesus is talking about catholics here. We can confirm this because of revelation and in 2025, we know the spiritual lineage of catholics

You think you understand the teachings of Christ better than anyone else in history. You've got it right and everyone else is wrong.

This is what catholics think. They make up their own interpretation of scripture and where are we now? Oh right, snake priest saying fag's can get married and all false gods are paths to christ lol

Can we all take in the irony of quoting old testament and then saying I don't care about the words of Christ?

Lets consider some New Testament verses instead.

John 3:16
Romans 5:8
1 John 4:7-16
Acts 10:34-35
Mark 12:31
Matthew 16:18-19

case in point: catholic understanding of the word is deeply flawed. If not the case you would know that isaiah 63 is christ speaking. You should read what christ says there. Also, blasphemy (pillar of catholicism) is the unforgivable sin, He tells us in mark 3:29.

Christ speaks in the old testament, why didn't your "papa" teach you this?
Lets consider some New Testament verses instead.

John 3:16
Romans 5:8
1 John 4:7-16
Acts 10:34-35
Mark 12:31

In fact ish. 63 works in concert and harmony with all of these quotes. While these discuss the sacrifice and love of God, isaiah 63 is christ telling isaiah what will happen to those who reject His gift
Matthew 16:18-19
I often hear catholics use this to justify their idolatry calling Peter the first pope. This doesn't work for a few reasons

A) the behavior and role of the pope today dramatically contrasts with what christ tasked Peter with. Christ did not give Peter a golden throne, political power, etc. Nor did jesus make Peter a "father" of anything. All of the new testament, ESPECIALLY the book of hebrews, confirms jesus christ as the only valid high priest under the new covenant. The role of a "pope" or other intermediary, is an old covenant practices, fulfilled by, Christ. Remember matthew 27:51. See also Hebrews 4:14. Peter being pope would nullify these 2 scriptures and others.

B) it's anachronism. The papacy was not established 300ad~ when constatinine established the religion

C) this actually has nothing to do with Peter at all. Read the beginning of the chapter. They are at Mount Hermon. If you studied the old testament, you'd know that this mountain is where the gates of hell are. A common place of pagan practice in history. Jesus is not saying Peter is the rock. He's saying he will build his kingdom on the literal rock they're standing in front of, OVER the gates of hell. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom. His epistles are the keys HE gives us, so we can enter the kingdom

D) revelation (specifically the prophecy about the nation of 7 hills) nullifies any righteouss claim that catholics make

Your snake cult has mislead you

Christ speaks in the old testament
Yea yea I get what you're trying to say. Christ is God, God is speaking in the Old Testament. I'm glad you understand the nature of the trinity.

The problem is that while the New Testament is hidden in Old Testament, the Old Testament is fulfilled in the New Testament. The Old Testament cannot contradict the New Testament, and if there is any perceived conflict between the two the New Testament wins.

So when the New Testament repeatedly says that God loves everyone, even those who reject Him, you cannot then point to the Old Testament to claim the opposite.
what will happen to those who reject His gift
Even here you basically admit I'm right. Isaiah 63 is not saying that God does not love those who reject Him, He's saying that those who reject him will doom themselves to suffering.
A) the behavior and role of the pope today dramatically contrasts with what christ tasked Peter with. Christ did not give Peter a golden throne, political power,
Christ is a King, the King of Kings. In those days when a King was away from the Kingdom for whatever reason he appointed a Steward to manage the Kingdom in his absence. You can see this, coincidentally, in the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah 22:20-24.
20 “In that day I will summon my servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah. 21 I will clothe him with your robe and fasten your sash around him and hand your authority over to him. He will be a father to those who live in Jerusalem and to the people of Judah. 22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 23 I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will become a seat[a] of honor for the house of his father. 24 All the glory of his family will hang on him: its offspring and offshoots—all its lesser vessels, from the bowls to all the jars.
Notice how I have bolded line 22. That's because it directly relates to Matthew 16:19.

The keys are historically a symbol of the office of Steward. Think of it like house sitting. You go on vacation and you put your most trusted neighbor in charge of looking after your house by giving him the keys.

So when Christ says to Peter:
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[d] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.”
He is making Peter his Steward over His Kingdom which spans all of creation while he is absent from Earth by virtue of being in Heaven.

You might also notice that both Isaiah 22:22 and Mathew 16:19 include the powers to open/loose and shut/bind.

Therefore Christ did infact give Peter power, immense power.
B) it's anachronism.
Pedantry. The office always existed, that is evident as I just explained above. The fact that it was not given a fancy name until sometime later is irrelevant.
C) this actually has nothing to do with Peter at all.
Ah a classic pitfall. Ask yourself, what is Peter's name? We may know him as Peter but he was born Simon. Christ is the one who gave him the name Peter, and "Peter" is actually just the English translation. If you go back to Aramaic it would be Cephas, and this is seen in the New Testament, look at Paul's letter to the Galatians or his first letter to the Corinthians for examples.

So why did Christ rename Simon to Cephas? Well Cephas means rock in Aramaic. So In Matthew 16:18 we see Christ say
18 And I tell you that you are Peter (Cephas/Rock) and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
And then immediately afterwards he grants him the symbols and powers of the office of Steward of the Kingdom.

Therefore it, in fact, has everything to do with Peter.
