Putting aside how terrible "This is $AUTHOR. Welcome to my book, $TITLE." is as an intro, this has two errors in it; there's no space before the title of the book and then there's a superfluous space before the second period.

This seems suspiciously as if the title of the book was copy and pasted in the wrong spot because he didn't remember the title and had to paste it in.

Basically his writing is crap. Figures he would project his failure into someone else.
