One team that works on issues related to climate change has gone so far as to seal itself off in a completely technology-sanitized room for in-person meetings—no phones, watches, computers, or other connected devices
Climate change is a buzzword for counter revolutionary treason against the State. I hope the Zoomer commisars in DOGE find out who these enemies are post haste, so they can be sent to work camps in Alaska.

That's right around the timeframe when Hollywood succumbed to the mind virus
Hollywood has always been a willing participant and henchman in the slow progression towards the cultural situation we find ourselves in today. If you find that overly conspiratorial or otherwise encounter some form of thought-terminating illusory conclusion, I point you towards the invention of mass media and the purposes for which it was used immediately after its invention, as well as the myriad experiments/research going back to the 20's on population-level psychological influence and the study of propaganda techniques that continued through to today.

I get it, I do, that it's difficult to accept but it's part of the problem - we as a society need to embrace the fact that inter-generational influence has been wrought on our populace to rival that of the North Koreans, just with more finesse.

It all stems from cultural Marxism which was an intentional attack on western education system which was infiltrated by commies in the 60s and 70s.

There is disagreement on if the Marxist actually believed this bullshit or if what made it to the west was designed to purposefully weaken and destabilize. Seeing as Russia and China are less faggy than the west I tend to think they knew it was bunk from the get go.

if the CIA wants to redeem itself
It can't and should be burned to the ground with the ashes salted and pissed on.
in the 60s and 70s.
Older, and the commies are the smokescreen for our government's terrible behavior.
It all stems from cultural Marxism
No, it stems from our government. This shit started in the early 20's, possibly 10's of the 20th century. However it morphed along the way and the groups given as scapegoats is irrelevant as they're just that, scapegoats. It wasn't commies who proposed and enacted Operation Mockingbird. Or CoIntelPro.

I'll remind you it was the 'Moral Majority' hard-rightwingers who were led by the nose to support stupid shit like the Patriot Act. That had nothing the fuck to do with communism. The pendulum itself is an example of this illusory political bullshit thrown up as an explanation by the people/groups actually responsible, who and whatever the hell that is other than the government.

Seemed like they planned to retcon real events as they happened by gaslighting people with a tv show starring one of the few good black actresses.
I don't think there's any major conspiracy behind this show, at most the idea of replacing Joe was floating around the party. Biden was clearly in mental decline long before he dropped out, so I don't think you'd necessarily need to be on the writing level of Tom Clancy to conceive an idea like this.
The premise was probably made with the intention of being a power fantasy for liberal women to cope, IIRC head Democrats didn't want Kamala, they were just stuck with her cause Joe dropped an endorsement on his way out. It would be pretty bizarre for them to have planned such a horrible campaign strategy all the way back in 2022.

The idea of replacing Joe floating around the party is literal textbook-definitive of the phrase "major conspiracy".

To wit you just said here:
I don't think there's any major conspiracy behind this show, other than the major conspiracy the show is about.
Did you realize that? If not I regret to inform you, you're unconsciously iterating double-speak as a normal means of communication.

Pretty sure it was the first one. Don't get me wrong, I like a good Elvis song and a good Amazing Grace, after about 15-20 minutes it gets a bit old.
Fun customer support tip from a former Tech Janny. When we're testing someone's computer over the phone, we always had them search for Elvis on Google or Youtube.

1. It's inoffensive to boomers. Even if they don't particularly like Elvis, they prefer him to literally anything else. They know him.
2. It's inoffensive to everyone else. Even if you get the most absurd Zoomer alive, a few seconds of "Hail to the King, baby" in Elvis's voice will bring them around. Plus you can explain...
3. You almost definitely have not Googled for Elvis in the recent past, meaning it won't be in your cache and we're getting "live internet search results."
4. The first results used to be several official Elvis videos, meaning you can test streaming capabilities too.
... for nerd points. (This is important, as you need to inspire confidence.)

Bonus customer support combo multiplier (This got me my first bonus when I finally started giving a shit):
5. There isn't an Boomer woman alive who can physically get angry when the computer nerd starts singing along to "Can't Help Falling in Love" over the phone after having you click on it.

Power grabs can come from both inside and outside. Marxists and communists can genuinely seek to exert influence in American society and those efforts can be used as a way for a government to justify targeting political organizations it deems subverise. For example you mention COINTELPRO which notably went after a number of groups like the Black Panther Party and the American Indian Movement which were not exactly always benign in their nature. The Patriot Act didn't come from nowhere either considering that it was a response to 9/11.

US Puts Deportees in Limbo by Foisting Them on Its Neighbors

The hundreds of migrants from Asia and the Middle East deported to Central America by Donald Trump’s administration this week are among the first caught in a legal limbo that may take years to resolve.

The deportees from different origin-countries now being held in camps or warehouses are posing a major logistical and human rights challenge for Central American governments, which were pressured by Washington to help the US deal with its refugee problem.

“We are helping our powerful economic brother to the north, because if they put a tax on our free trade zones we’re screwed,” Costa Rica’s President Rodrigo Chaves said.

Nearly 300 people originally from Asia or the Middle East have so far been sent from the US to Panama, and about 200 have gone to Costa Rica. Guatemala and El Salvador have also agreed to take in deportees from different-origin nations.

The policy of shipping migrants to third countries as “bridges” in a repatriation process is a fundamental change in US policy, and reflects Trump’s willingness to use economic threats to advance the deportation agenda he promised on the campaign trail. Central American nations depend heavily on trade with the US, meaning that Trump could devastate their small economies with tariffs if they refuse his demands.

“Who would ever agree to this unless they were blackmailed?” said Adam Isacson, an expert on US migration policy at the Washington Office on Latin America.

Panama’s government said that none of the people it had been sent had criminal records or were terrorists, or presented a security threat to the country.

Death Penalty
Many are seeking asylum. But once they are out of the US, they are no longer protected by US law and will have less access to attorneys to help them defend asylum cases. It will therefore fall to Central American governments to ensure that their rights are respected.

“The question is what if these people say, ‘Please don’t send me back to Afghanistan / Iran, etc. I fear for my life,’” Isacson said in a written reply to questions. “If these people express fear, they’re going to need a hearing somewhere.”

A New York Times report this week found that some of the people sent to Panama appear to have strong asylum claims, including Iranian converts to Christianity who risk the death penalty for apostasy in their home country.

The people sent to Costa Rica will be taken to a large warehouse in the south of the nation on the border with Panama, according to the presidency. The center is typically used by migrants that recently crossed the jungle to Panama from Colombia, and are waiting to take the bus through Costa Rica on their way to the US.

The US government will finance the entire process and the International Organization for Migration will oversee care of the migrants while they are in Costa Rica, the presidency said.

Costa Rica’s government says it expects to hold the migrants for four to six weeks.

The US is also paying for the process in Panama. On Wednesday, the nation’s government transported the migrants in buses to a camp near the Darien Gap, a jungle region where migrants heading to the US typically enter Panama on their way north. One of the migrants, a Chinese woman, escaped, Panama’s immigration authority said.

Panama’s government says that if the migrants want asylum, they will need to formally apply under the country’s regular procedures, or in safe third countries. Security Minister Frank Ábrego said Wednesday that 171 of the 299 migrants have volunteered to return to their countries of origin.

That means the government will likely have to house the other migrants for a prolonged period or be responsible for sending them back to nations where they would risk torture or death.

It’s unclear how large the numbers might eventually become. As of 2022, the US had about 2.3 million unauthorized immigrants from Asia, the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, according to an estimate by the Pew Research Center.

“We believe that one of the reasons the Trump administration is doing this is because these returnees would not be covered under US law,” said Michelle Mittelstadt, Director of Communications at the Migration Policy Institute. “Plus, if there is longer-term detention, it’s cheaper in Panama and Costa Rica.”

Noooo! The US is supposed to be weak and never use it's immense power to negotiate for the betterment of it's own citizens.

<sad trombone> Less access to attorneys? How terrible. We're sick of paying for all this shit, kick rocks.

AP sues 3 Trump administration officials, citing freedom of speech

The Associated Press sued three Trump administration officials Friday over access to presidential events, citing freedom of speech in asking a federal judge to stop the blocking of its journalists. “We’ll see them in court,” the White House press secretary said in response.

The lawsuit was filed Friday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., 10 days after the White House began restricting access to the news agency. It was assigned to U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump nominee.

The AP says its case is about an unconstitutional effort by the White House to control speech — in this case not changing its style from the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” as President Donald Trump did last month with an executive order.

“The press and all people in the United States have the right to choose their own words and not be retaliated against by the government,” the AP said in its lawsuit, which names White House chief of staff Susan Wiles, deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich and press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

“This targeted attack on the AP’s editorial independence and ability to gather and report the news strikes at the very core of the First Amendment,” the news agency said. “This court should remedy it immediately.” The Constitution’s First Amendment guarantees freedom of the press, speech and religion and bars the government from obstructing any of them.

Leavitt said that she learned about the lawsuit Friday while driving from the White House to an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

“I wanted to get the White House counsel on the phone before taking this stage to see what I can and cannot say but, look, we feel we are in the right in this position,” she said. “We’re going to ensure that truth and accuracy is present at that White House every single day.”

Trump directly cited AP’s editorial decision
In stopping the AP from attending press events at the White House and Mar-a-Lago, or flying on Air Force One in the agency’s customary spot, the Trump team directly cited the AP’s decision not to fully follow the president’s renaming.

“We’re going to keep them out until such time as they agree that it’s the Gulf of America,” Trump said Tuesday.

This week, about 40 news organizations signed onto a letter organized by the White House Correspondents Association, urging the White House to reverse its policy against the AP. They included outlets like Fox News Channel and Newsmax, where many of the on-air commentators are Trump supporters.

“We can understand President Trump’s frustration because the media has often been unfair to him, but Newsmax still supports AP’s right, as a private organization, to use the language it wants to use in its reporting,” Newsmax said in a statement. “We fear a future administration may not like something Newsmax writes and seek to ban us.”

While AP journalists have still been allowed on White House grounds, they have been kept out of the “pool” of journalists that cover events in smaller spaces and report back to its readers and other reporters. The AP has been part of White House pools for more than a century.

The lawsuit said the AP had made “several unsuccessful efforts” to persuade the administration that its conduct was unlawful. Julie Pace, AP’s senior vice president and executive editor, traveled to Florida this week to meet with Wiles.

The AP Stylebook is a sticking point
In an email to AP, Wiles said the news organization was targeted because its influential stylebook is used as a standard by many journalists, scholars and students across the country, the lawsuit said. She said the administration was hopeful the name change would be reflected in the AP Stylebook “where American audiences are concerned.”

The Stylebook is used by international audiences, as well as those within the United States. The AP has said that its guidance was offered to promote clarity, and that even though Gulf of Mexico will continue to be used, journalists should also note Trump’s action to change the name.

A Trump executive order to change the name of the United States’ largest mountain back to Mount McKinley from Denali is being recognized by the AP Stylebook. Trump has the authority to do so because the mountain is completely within the country he oversees, AP has said.

Wiles also wrote to the AP that its stylebook’s influence “has been misused, and at times weaponized, to push a divisive and partisan agenda,” according to the lawsuit.

In an Axios story last week, Budowich noted other AP Stylebook entries that have rankled some conservatives. They include the decision to capitalize Black but not white in racial references, guidance on gender-affirming medical care and direction not to use the term “ illegal immigrants.”

In a radio interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Friday, Trump referred to the Associated Press as “radical left lunatics.” He said that “Associated Press is a third-rate outfit with a first-rate name.”

He said “just about everybody” accepted the Gulf of America name change but “AP wants to be cute.” There has been a mixed response from other news organizations: The New York Times and Washington Post are continuing to use Gulf of Mexico, while Fox News has switched to Trump’s choice. Google Maps is using Gulf of America for users in the United States.

I was going to try and make a funny post about German High Command striking back from their base in Antarctica and stuff but I have lost my train of thought, I'm just looking up "politician hitler gesture" and stuff like that and laughing while I build my shitpost collage!

Elizabeth and Hillary are using the wrong fucking arm, what a pair of dumb idiots

It's like people have forgotten that Hollywood was long suspected (and confirmed to have) communists and communist sympathizers in the industry. They were much, much, more subtle about it in those days but they did drip feed progressive ideology to the masses via the media.

Speaking of, the missus and I recently listened to Jurassic Park: The Lost World on audible and holy shit was that a hate-listen.

Michael Crichton fucked that one up on a scale I could only compare to George Martin signing his HBO deal

“Hey guys it’s kinda a major plot thing that Malcom dies in the first book, but we’re just gonna go ahead and ‘nuh uh’ that to bring him back as a useless heroin addict to contrast the ultra Mary Sue girlboss who’s going to be better at everything than everyone. We’re also going to act like research academics are actually cool and badass people, and we’re going to rip off Steve Urkel but call him fucking Arby so nobody will be able to remember his white female best friends’ name as anything other than Arby’s Roast Beef”

I’m now convinced wokeness actually began in the 90’s
I know that for more fiction you have to shut off a part of your brain but I could never do that with Jurassic Park. You know if some tech company cloned dinosaurs that got out and killed people world governments would flip their shit. Isla Nubar would be nuked till it glowed.

The shitty Jurassic World sequels only exacerbated this entiment from me. Uw wuw dinosaurs are now free to live among us. Ok enjoy not having dogs or cats anymore because raptors start killing them.

To paraphrase Furio "stupida fucking story"

The Patriot Act didn't come from nowhere either considering that it was a response to 9/11.
The Patriot Act was drafted years before 9/11 happened. The "commies" you think are responsible didn't exist in our government's structure when this shit started ages ago.

I was where you're at right now a few years ago. Hopefully you'll do the research necessary to come to the same conclusion rather than picking at your favorite illusory enemy given to you as a bone to chew on by the government that's been at this since the 20's at a minimum.
It's like people have forgotten that Hollywood was long suspected (and confirmed to have) communists and communist sympathizers in the industry.
We have to move past this false dichotomy pushed by faggot confused leftists like James Lindsay or this problem will never be actually recognized for what it is, an illusory target given to you as an escape hatch and scapegoat both for the structure that has been at this for longer than your parents' existence.
I'm talking about the production of the show, I'm saying it's a coincidence. Joe biden getting the boot was a conspiracy, yes. I'm not retarded.
Yeah, we're both talking about the production of the show, I'm glad you recognize that. What you said doesn't change meaning just because you reassert this stance.
