Let me catch you up half drunk because who gives a shit about Outer Worlds plot. Everything is so fucked and cost cut because the Hlacyon system's soil does not contain enough nutrition for humanity as a whole to survive long term. Even with food and a full stomach, everyone is still developing malnutrition. You get the best ending if you maxed int at the start and everyone loves you for saving the system. Haven't played a science trusting retard and can't be arsed to finish that for a second playthrough but that's about the short of what you missed.Speaking of The Outer Worlds, I still have to finish it. I think I got bored when I reached Byzantium.
I ended up taking the bark that covers my eyes and making a balding full english chud besides. Everything else was hideous but at least my chud doesn't need to see how bad it is. By the way, ALL of the rude dialogue options seem to need you to invest in strength to say them.don't know if I've been "chud pilled" or what, but the artstyle just seems agressively faggy to me. I try to make a man, but everything comes out looking like a lady boy because of the weird eyelashesh. And like 95% of the "godlike" features make me look like I'm trying to win a drag queen pagent or something.
It's partly UE but also part of the modern way of making games on an assembly line. It's why practically all UI are built with round edges or corners, infinite scrolling, mobile design, emoticons or signs instead of text. And why most games are filled with the same color palette or saturated with motion blur. Movies and television shows are the way. Everything is shot with the same cameras and software using the same light filters. It's the typical mediocre shit I've come to expect from Obsidian. The graphics look like shit, everything is all blurry and stuff. I feel like all of Microsofts games for the past 5 years have suffered from this but maybe it's just a UE thing.
Here's a net positive: it made me reinstall Oblivion. Haven't played it in a decade or so. One mod that levels up the unique quest rewards and I'm good to go.
I have bad news for you: the game does crash and stutter. I got some random freeze and loading screen crashes at least two time a session, my character has lags for 30 sec when I reopen the game.Given that it's running on Unreal, it's still a rare W for obsidian that it doesn't just stutter, crash and burn.
That's pretty much what we're stuck with. Either DLSS or TAA, so the clamoring from normies about DLSS4 is just shit. Lowest common denominator trash where we settle on just enabling DLSS cause native implementations are that terrible. Why would developers bother to fix that anyway? It's so much more than that. And inconsistent as fuck. Sometimes I boot it up and 80% of the screen is visual noise. Other times I boot it up and its sharp as hecc and I haven't changed any settings. Turning off DLSS induces a MASSIVE ghosting issue.
It's pretty hard to play the game when you literally can't see whats going on.
What about Depth of Field? This game has the four horsemen of obnoxious post processing and you can't disable them.
Motion blur
TAA
Film Grain
Chromatic abb
To be fair, it did get more people to play Outer Wilds by mistake.Outer Worlds shouldn’t exist, this being below it is an abomination of unbelievable reach.
Maybe I'm just dense, but how the fuck does it stand that a spacefaring civilization cannot solve this? Is the reason really "lol iunno we're retards I guess"?Everything is so fucked and cost cut because the Hlacyon system's soil does not contain enough nutrition for humanity as a whole to survive long term.
I went the other way around... was recommended "Outer Worlds" when they meant Outer Wilds. To be fair, it did get more people to play Outer Wilds by mistake.
Because capitalism bad.Maybe I'm just dense, but how the fuck does it stand that a spacefaring civilization cannot solve this? Is the reason really "lol iunno we're retards I guess"?
Mate I'm on Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 2070, and I won't even mention how badly I've hacked up (meaning mutilated) my W10 to remove telemetry, forced updates, add shit from W11 without upgrading, remove MS store checks for pirated applications and more, because at this point it's closer to digital HRT, but while I got occasional dips below 60 FPS, it has never crashed or even froze on me once. I've been reading stuff about game's performance matching my own experience, and came to conclusion that Obsidian's code monkeys can stay, it's just writers and project managers that should be put to gas chambers.I have bad news for you: the game does crash and stutter. Now I'm worried each time I had to teleport or go in a new zone.
My PC is 3 years old components-wise and the graphics are set to potato quality so fuck them I'll go the let's play route like I intended
I think this is the most damning comparison yet. I never played outer worlds, I had no idea how much of a step down avowed was.
Has gaming in modern day gone this downhill that the mediocre game from 2019 is somehow more decent than a video game that does not know why it exists in the first place? If anything, it says that The Outer Worlds looks more like No Man’s Sky compared to Avowed.Outer Worlds shouldn’t exist, this being below it is an abomination of unbelievable reach.
Gave Worlds another shot with the remaster which was notoriously dogshit, but a patch seemingly fixed the fps issues. I quite like it now, though it really is a super contained arcade-esque single-path no-replayability experience. By no means bad if you put yourself in that 360 oblivion fps mindset. Had pretty fun writing at times too, ignoring the blatant LGBTQ bait.I think this is the most damning comparison yet. I never played outer worlds, I had no idea how much of a step down avowed was.
I can't be the only one who got confused and thought that Obsidian was making a time loop RPG where you had 15 minutes to complete the main quest. That actually would have been dope.

Outer Worlds is the peak of that "one of the games of all time" meme. Seriously, take one look at the wiki and witness how many pages have entire sections empty.Gave Worlds another shot with the remaster which was notoriously dogshit, but a patch seemingly fixed the fps issues.
