Is it a crime to make a complaint to the Feds, but then to withdraw it if paid to do so?
I mean it sounds like a form of intimidation and extortion to me.
If it was over a question of stolen money that the complaint to the Feds was about, then assuming they returned stolen money then I suppose it would make sense, but this is a case of “I have grassed you up, but if you pay me, I will call the Feds off”.
I can’t see the Feds especially happy about people doing that.
