PL, but I know a "woman" who has had GRS. The bathroom always smells like a biohazard after he uses it, but it's a particularly fetid stench and does not smell like anything that a healthy human body should smell like. It's crazy that irreversibly mutilating your body is the rational conclusion that these people end up coming to after acknowledging that they feel that they were born as the wrong gender. You could have just gotten therapy, but to each his own, I guess. Funny you should ask. A few days ago I came across a pooner who claims to have a 20 year old rot dog. Now, I can practically hear the veterans of this thread smacking X to doubt, because from what we have all learned from pointing and laughing at the afflicted was that rot dogs have an estimated life of 5 years plus a horrible tendency to rot off almost immediately. Added to this, 2005 is SUPER early in the timeline for these surgeries, both because trannyism wasn't much of a thing back then and because the dog in question looks surprisingly good for that date.

For these reasons I didn't post it immediately, as I wasn't sure what I was actually looking at (male showing off his dick to anyone he can trick into looking at it? Pooner but wildly exaggerating?) It appeared in the lesser known r/phallos (as opposed to r/phallo) from a user named u/vegancheeks whose other posts appear to be in gay male exhibitionist subs. But then she also posted her maimed arms so <shrug> I dunno, have a look for yourself.

Actually, imo her surgeries being in 2005 and getting a better result than women getting the same surgeries today makes perfect sense to me. Back then, trans surgeries were basically unheard of, so she probably had to go to a specialist who typically deals with deformities of the penis and similar, a real urologist, etc. Someone who would take the time, energy, money, etc. to really get it as close to "right" as it's possible to get, and it probably cost her an absolute fortune. She didn't go to some plastic surgeon who has no idea what he's doing and is just trying to capitalize on the societal trend that is "trans" in the current day.
It's sort of like how we talk here about the differences in scarring between trans-identified females' "top surgery" scars versus the (relatively nonexistent) scars women have from cancer-related mastectomies. The former go to the chop-shop plastic surgeons, the latter go to actual professionals who specialize in taking their time and doing that particular work right.
Additionally, back then the surgeon doing the 'dog surgery was probably counting on writing a paper or something about his experience with it, and wanted it to be as good an example of a fake penis as possible, because that surgery simply wasn't done back then. That kind of thing encourages good standards. Surgeons doing trans-related surgeries these days don't have to have standards because the community will embrace their results no matter how horrid they are, they're not going to be exceptional because there are so many other cheapshit plastic surgeons doing the exact same thing in the exact same way, and there are so many future victims that they have to get their surgeries done in a hurry so they can make even more money off of them.
And to be fair, she does have a better result than the other trans-identified females featured here. It kinda-sorta-maybe looks like a penis if you're not looking too closely. But, I will add, that doesn't make her any more of a "man" than any other woman could possibly be, and it's still not an actual penis.

It doesn’t hang right to my eyes, but the texture of it looks very real-penis-y - the way there looks to be the actual dick shape of two distinct sides of corpus cavernosum, with the main veins in a slight dip along the middle. The amount of veins just under the surface of the dick in the photo where it’s hanging down also makes me think it’s a real dick. If it’s surgically made from two forearms, it’s certainly a million miles better than today’s rotdog surgery. Why would surgery have gone backwards in quality so enormously?

There look to be large keloid scars along the lower stomach in the beach pic, so no wonder the poses and clothing arrangement in other photos is odd. Something fucky going on here.

I came of age in the 90's drag scene. There were a few trans women in the scene and all of them were in the process of getting surgeries. However, it took at least five years to get the basic surgery. You had to live as the opposite gender for a year or more to get hormones. It was a much more medically conservative time.
