Jennifer's amusing because the only people he ever interacts with are atalkers or other people calling him stupid and insulting him for his takes yet he still believes fervently that the vast majority of people not only agree with him but are just waiting for him to tweet something to spring into action. Even though this not only doesn't happen, it hasn't ever happened. But any day now everyone who has ever crossed Patirck in any way will be enjoying prison.
In that way Pat is an exaggerated microcosm of the Democrats in general and the progressive Left in particular. They have been convinced that they were in the majority since the end of the Clinton administration. They always had an excuse for every time the Republicans won elections - Bush lost the popular vote in 2000, Trump in 2016, Bush was buoyed by post-9/11 patriotism in 2004. But 2024's margin was so decisive that none of those previous explanations apply. The Republicans took the House, Senate and Presidency, by decisive margins. It was a gigantic repudiation of progressive politics, hard numbers that can't be explained away. For anyone sane, that's politics, the pendulum swings one way, then another, and sometimes your guy loses. Deal with it.
But to True Believers like Pat (and Jackie Singh, Jim Stewartson and others), it simply can't be that their guy lost and that progressivism was never as popular as they thought and certainly not by November 2024. You can see the Democrats and progressives have some kind of seizure trying to come up with ways to resolve the cognitive dissonance of the massive defeat and their belief that everyone agrees with them. Some have done some genuine soul-searching. Some blame the voters for some kind of moral failing. Some (perhaps rightly) blame Joe Biden. But for some, the only possible resolution is that there's a conspiracy. Pat, of course, being a pig-headed narcissist, can't accept that he's wrong about
anything, so he's started sperging out like a Q-Anon boomer about bomb threats to polling stations and unevidenced claims of massive electoral fraud, Russian interference, mysteriously effective propaganda (that of course doesn't affect Pat, because Pat is the Ubermensch). And of course given his habit of not only stating his opinion as fact, but as fact so obvious that you must be a retard or Russian propagandist not to agree with him, he looks fucking ridiculous.
I wonder how this is going to shake down over the next four years. Will he keep screaming about his retarded conspiracy theories, or will he settle down (while insisting that his opinion hasn't changed, child). Given how badly he melted down during the Biden administration, an administration that broadly had the same politics as him, four years of Trump will put even more pressure on his barely-functional psyche. I can't wait to see what happens nexxxsssst.
