White South Africans gathered at the US embassy in Pretoria this month to demonstrate against alleged ‘genocide’

A South African high court has ruled that claims backed by Elon Musk of a “genocide” targeting white people are imaginary.
A judge in the Western Cape high court said that claims black people intended to wipe out white South Africans had historically been used to bolster white nationalism in the country.
The ruling came as the court set aside the will of a man who had left £1.7 million to be used by a Right-wing paramilitary group for illegal training.
Judge Rosheni Allie ruled that the bequest to the Boerelegioen by Grantland Michael Bray was invalid because it “promoted racial hatred” and was contrary to public policy.
The self-styled civil defence group says on its website it aims to “enable the citizens to resist the promised slaughter of whites in [the Republic of South Africa] as well as the theft of their property”.
Mr Musk, who was born in South Africa, has in recent years used social media to repeatedly warn of a genocide threatening its white population.
He has accused the country’s radical Marxist Economic Freedom Fighters party of “openly pushing for genocide of white people in South Africa” and accused the African National Congress government of doing too little to stop it.
Donald Trump, who recruited Mr Musk to his administration, has cut aid to South Africa in recent weeks, accusing it of discriminating against whites and offering white South Africans the chance to resettle in America.
Judge Allie said in her ruling that the Boerelegioen activities glorified apartheid.
She said: “The only expression of the testator’s intention that is evident is the intention for the funds to be used for ‘training’, as well as the testator’s own assertions that he wanted the funds used to benefit an organisation which he deemed to be one which will ‘exterminate every black person in SA’ and will be used to defend or ward off a white genocide, which is clearly imagined and not real.”
She said in her ruling, which made no reference to Mr Musk, that “fearmongering” about the threat from black people “now takes the form of persuading white people that farm murders are the designed commencement of a white genocide, which is, allegedly, imminent”.
