He's entirely correct, too. Becky has plenty of fellow terminally online couch-melded losers that will seal clap her every dumb thought on social media, because it takes zero effort and they all circle jerk each other's tardposting for validation. Being RL friends with someone that is constantly bringing drama and engages in serial fabulism gets very, VERY tiresome, very fast.

At first it's kind of exciting to hear about this supposedly crazy life they lead, but it gets exhausting quick and it becomes obvious they are either a nutcase with abysmal decision making & self control, or they are constantly weaving tales to make their lame life seem interesting. Or both. At least, that has been my experience around people like this.

Lacking any social or personal awareness as she does, this bitch fails to realize that many people whose lives are daily shit fests -- because they are "marginalized" by living in an active war zone or a place where people get actively hate-crimed, because they have a crippling disability or terminal illness, because they are abjectly poor and are trying every day to improve life but haven't been able to yet -- still don't act like miserable assholes or let on they're in a constant state of existential uncertainty.

Not everyone can be Robin Williams and make the world laugh when they really just want to get out the noose and take a swing on it every single day. But most people can hold things together at least a little bit.
Some people can even talk about their terminal cancer or dire financial straits in such a way that makes people understand and sympathize, but not come off as sad sacks at the same time.

Most people in desperate circumstances also don't tell absolutely everyone and the entire internet (under their own names, nonetheless) about all of their problems 24/7.

And as others have noted, Becky doesn't even suffer *that much*, but still manages to manufacture crises out of ordinary things. Like "my boyfriend wants to go camping and I don't", or "my parents and I do not agree about politics."
So there's a major difference all the way down.

(Everyone who participates in this thread already knows all of this, but in case any one of her multiple orbiters who reads here may be thinking Becky has a point ... she doesn't.)

I'm pretty sure he did some of this the last time he tried to get away when his friends at Riot told him he was in an emotionally abusive relationship. But he stayed and wanted to commit enough to fake marry Bex. Like what does that say about him that he thought Bex was wife & mother material till now?

I mean the fake marriage is whatever - but now he's yoked to her for the next 17 years in some form - if he wants to have a relationship with Hannah. He best believe Bex will ABSOLUTELY do everything to try and make him miserable and move out once he's no longer needed (which will eventually happen) - and after that will make attempting to co-parent with her an absolute nightmare.

Or worst case senario - he's stuck with the ex he lothes and her partners for several years because everyone else is too useless to find a (decent stable) job, and he knows the moment he moves out - he's going to struggle to get chances to be with his own child without a lot of fuss in the process.

I was actually thinking about this, what are the chances that having a kid actually made him grow up a bit? Like that is a thing that happens when people become parents. Obviously it didn’t happen to Bex, she’s irredeemable. But if he’s actually been responsible for keeping the baby fed and clean and entertained, I wonder if that might have given him new perspective on her cluster b antics. Then again, it’s not clear that he’s acting for the kid’s sake, seems like just his own, and cows basically never change.

It's a coping mechanism to think that someone who's a gigantic problem (aka Becky) will eventually stop when they get what they want and that if you "ride it out" - things will be OK, or even good, again.

Daniel probably tried checking items off the box and ignoring the sliding goalposts over the years until he (seemingly) finally hit a breaking point and realized how miserable he is compared to what he's putting into the relationship.

- Got fake married
- Looked the other way about her first rape accusation about him
- Lost his dream job
- Had to scramble and get another job
- Put her in a $1,000,000 home
