You fundamentally don't understand their position on this issue. TRAs will acknowledge when someone is lying and then demand the proper pronouns are used anyway -- look at the neo nazi in Germany from last month suing people for misgendering him and demanding to be transferred to a woman's prison while growing out his beard: they'll 'correctly' gender him anyway with janny enforcement on most places I've seen. They will never cede even an inch on this issue or really basically any other issue.

People just stopped playing. The community changed pretty significantly after 2020 and Covid, by that point I’d already stopped playing nearly 4 years prior, you look at /tg/ and like 90% of the admins are from that time period of 2020, and the ones that were there in the early days and still are admins are colossal faggots who should’ve been dragged out onto the streets and shot.
Now, paradoxically, the server with/tg/ on its name is going to ban calling people mean words because “that’s not the culture” even though the reason they started playing on the server was solely due to the culture that was made in the early 2010s where I called every single admin I didn’t like a faggot retard.
I think at a certain point newfags got confused by what tg stood for and assumed it meant transgender. Many such cases of troons being the dumbest fucking people on this planet.

I know I just don't have time to play it anymore. Honestly I feel like a lot of the more OG space station players have just kind of got busier and moved on. It's a game that really puts you in some time commitment. Someone asked about how the community has changed and been lost and I think it is just weirdos moving in and older people just not having the time commitment anymore. The more time I spend in this thread the more I remember just how long and long ago I actually did play it. My life's changed so much. Seems like yesterday. I liked playing borgs. Following Asimov was so interesting of a mechanic. I tell my wife about it and she is also really fascinated at the idea of a game like SS13 and the laws of robotics.
I remember tg being a hug box way before covid. It's why I stuck to vg.

I don’t disagree that tg was a hug box before 2020, just that it got egregiously worse after 2020. SoS was a disgusting faggot but atleast he was from 4chan and didn’t give a shit about “bad” words. For me personally I stopped playing because by that point I’d played for so many years that the only reason I played was because I liked the people, soon as they left and were replaced by hubbies there was no point carrying on, the game mechanics are generally a bit shit in my opinion, the only good thing was atmospherics and there’s only so many times you can make a canister bomb before you get bored.
Coming back to it now I’m significantly older as well I can smell the underage permeating through all of it, I hadn’t noticed when I first started because I was younger but now? I can literally tell every single player started when they were 12 and they’ve been groomed by the disgusting degenerates that inhibit this game, and the earlier problems of it being a dogshit game that depends entirely on player interaction is still there, except nowadays the players are either groom victims or troon groomers.
Oh and not to say my disgust when I see just how many erp servers have proliferated and are generally the most active servers. That’s a pretty good indicator of the player quality that the troons and groomvictims make up.

I wasn't surprised the game had a massive discord groomer infestation, I'm surprised by the near-total victory they achieved. In other (to be fair non-RP) 10+ year old PC games I play you can just avoid the cancer servers. Here doing that means at least a commitment to low pop.
Everything roleplay outside of maybe like ARMA 3 roleplay seems quite bleak now. Tabletop RP as a whole has become a lot worse but for that one people self-select anyway so it doesn't really affect your table, just a massive nosedive in the average quality of books. I'm just surprised by SS13 because (1) it lends itself to being a black comedy game and (2) people who want to pretend to be a girl have better options like VRChat or Second Life but choose this anyway.

I remember during the late 2010s on /tg/ 4chan there was threads for a game of ss13 hosted by a gentleman called Gordon Freemen. It was small and had like 10s of people playing but they were cool and said gamer words all the time.

A fair number of older SS13 players split off into smaller, gated communities. BPL, for instance, has their own private SS14 server with a whitelist that keeps out anyone who isn't in their front-facing community, and in some occasions, will also filter out people within their community if they shit things up in a decidedly unfun way for the server particularly often enough. As far as I understand, there's a lot of grognards among their number.
(Not that I'm particularly calling anyone from there out for anything. They're all more or less cool dudes. It's just on the topic that it's where at least some handful of OGs seem to have moved over to.)

Yeah that was another server created by actual /tg/ people when /tg/station got filled with mongoloid hubbies. It did have low pop after the hype died down but it was more like 2012 /tg/station than whatever the fuck it has become now.
