It would still be a huge, huge hit for Trump. For context, the Freedom Caucus is the hard right, national-populist caucus which has been some of the most ardent supporters of Trump. To give an example of what I mean by "hard right," they kicked MTG out in 2023 for being too centrist and having the audacity to support at-the-time Speaker Kevin McCarthy. They are the same ones that were reportedly holding up the vote and planning to vote down the budget resolution, reportedly with house whips literally physically holding their buttons so they couldn't vote no and badgering them until they relented and voted yes. Reportedly Trump also called several members of the HFC to personally implore them to support the bill.
