I'm preaching to the choir I'm sure but the act of doxxing someone is hardly as nefarious or labor intensive as is portrayed. You dox yourself and it only takes a few hints to pull those threads together. Your name and address are, with exceptions, public information. So either acquire a ridiculously common first and last name combination or never speak on your geographic location, work history, and never have any IRL family or friends involved in your online existence.

When someone posts a dox here my personal response is, "Oh, interesting" and then I go about my day because the liability for individuals tapping the glass is huge and none of these people are worth it. Posting someone's dox to a Youtuber's community and that community has termed that person a subversive is a completely procedure with a completely different intent.

Well someone would have to live or work in Illinois for the law to even be asserted against Destiny. But putting that aside, if there’s an example of a Destiny footsoldier operating irl based on Destiny’s online statements, and Kuihman felt strongly enough about the dox to, e.g., break his lease and spend money and time moving his place and taking time off work (read: stop making money) then it could probably constitute a colorable claim under the statute. And it’s probably unlikely to fall under the First Amendment if the only context is that he’s telling his foot soldiers that this is a bad guy who should be punished.

The context of that "suicide bait" was Pxie downplaying her suicidality to Erin so she wouldn't worry about her too much. That's why Destiny didn't show the entire message thread where Erin claims to not believe that she was lying about the suicide. The clip of the Lonerbox stream was posted a few pages back.

Almost literal Devil's Advocate mode: at the time, live-streaming Starcraft 2 was literally Destiny's job (call it cringe w/e but people were paying him.) Imagine some random asshole starts a long-term sabotage campaign against you working your job, and there's zero legal way to deal with the situation because the asshole lives in a jurisdiction where under aged people have almost zero criminal liability (until they turn 18, at least.)

Out of forced necessity, Destiny had to become the leading expert on how to protect a Twitch stream from DDoS (big part of this was, at the time, Twitch did not have their own systems in place to prevent/mitigate this issue. Or they were highly inadequate.) He arguably had exhausted every other legal measure to solve the issue, when he made that threat.

He still most likely shouldn't have done it, but I think this is important context.

If anything this speaks to Destiny's stupidity and cowardice. He could have taken a number of legal options but chose not to because he is too cheap. Sicking his community on or threatening this kid was his go to. Notice how upset he gets when an adult threatens him? Also shows people don't change ( as destiny has used the passage of time and age as an excuse to forgive shitty behaviour).

Exactly. It can be interesting to see the technique, if any was involved, but that's mostly where that ends. There are real-world applications for these skills, Personal Investigators, Genealogists, and Journalism among them. Seeing the process also makes me extremely aware of how I can avoid being doxed and if I am it will have been my fault for being too sentimental over an old social media account.

Essentially, Erin and Erudite both believed Pxie was genuinely suicidal. Pxie was downplaying this to her friends to try and stop them from worrying, but Destiny is showing this as an example of her faking suicidal ideation to exploit him.

His simping for institutions goes beyond his simping for the DNC (when he calls Sam Seder who he says hate the dnc lol). During BLM, there was a movement wanting radical reforms around policing and similar issues, and it was at that particular moment that he was starting to detach from the DNC narrative. This is because he’s an anti-reformist and wanted the DNC to go back to that statut quo institutionalism in that time period.
