My take on Zack is his midlife crisis is hitting hard, and he always had a pretty unpleasant personality which he's just decided not to hide any more. Also, his ability to get others to write and draw comics for him seems to have collapsed and he doesn't have the ability to do that stuff on his own. He should have worked harder in art class instead of trying to police the other students.

That was way back when. He had the option to go to either Rogan or Jeffries and picked the latter. That, in hindsight, was our first clue that the man is too autistic and particular about things. He will take the more autistic option because of his peculiarities even if it wields worse results and the other option only needed a LITTLE more work. Issue #3 never sells as well as #1 that's why Marvel is constantly starting over titles at #1. I don't think he'll get a big one like ISOM #1 again but it's a steady bidness selling a few thousand issues every few months while it lasts.
