The save/load issues are the exact same issues I had with the demo 3 years ago. How do you not figure out this shit in that span of time?

It's maps are absudrly big, intended to be searched and combed through to find secrets and loot, for this reason your inventory resets after every level, since the game is going for a more Thief approach

I think this really doesn't work well in this game, they should atleast let you carry over augs. (I think they plan to implement this?) What's the point for looking for all the exotic guns if I can't keep them? A shitty sks or a toz will work just as well when 90% of the enemies die from a single headshot.

Playing around with holy and unholy imagery is also a power fantasy thing. There's a lot of great and powerful works of art that have Christian themes and symbols, and many are valued for being deep and meaningful. Trans and edgy people borrow that symbolism to try to get same gravitas that the religious art has, except edgier because they're trans or subverting expectations or something. They want to make art like that, but like a 10 year old imitating anime, a lot of the nuance is missed and falls flat.

This guy used to have pretty interesting videos about 3D graphics wtf happened. Also I'm not sure if people not changing their voice at all is better or worse than pulling a shmorky. I will count this as my Peri Post, I don't want to flood the chat but I do want to showcase it's charms

I've been quite enjoying Peripetia. Despite the jank. Prop flying is funny. Using the drone aug to pick up Marie and fly with. Alongside using the APS-C spear gun and the sword for traversal is fun.
Hoever Belgrade, Level 4, is an absolute mess. I haven't completed it yet. But fuck me it's hard. And the cutscenes bug teleporting you out of the tower is absurd. As is the limited save system. I'll say it's a great concept. With poor execution. Kinda drags on too long. AFAIK it seems like a Marie origin story. But I'm playing on 4:3 so the text is not scaling properly in notes.
As for the anime shit. I'm a bit more anime tolerant. The humans are humans. The Androids are anime-esc. My excuse is Marie has night vision. So she needs giant bug eyes to collect and amplify light better. Lol

what the fuck? actually used to catch videos from this guy from time to time. thought they were only ok because most retro console model tutorials are like everything else surface level. it's part of why you see the same tired shaders in much 3d troonslop, making it actually look good and closer to the level of some of the great stuff you'd find in those consoles would require effort, and troons are only concerned with recognizable symbols for xheir neovagina allegory metroidvania
sometimes i think about how capcom got retroshit nailed almost perfectly for megaman 9 and 10. it helps of course that it is their series, but the dedication to having a NES game with all the limitations of the console on modern hardware, right down to audio and graphical quirks, is impressive, and of course the games are actually fun too.
i bet something like a new entry with the look and feel of the classic entries on the ps1 would be received positively, but capcom is too busy making remakeslop to bother trying these days

Typing of the Dead does have a decent amount of nostalgia in it, and it was (unfortunately) run at GDQ last year. This game is 100% for sure slop at bare minimum even if not troon, and this image is all I need to prove it:

ULTRAKILL just released its biggest visual update.
This also includes the new "Encore" levels, and a lot of changes to the visuals for the earlier levels of the game.

I'm glad Ultrakill is moving away from Le Retro PS1 Vibes and doing its own thing with the low-poly pixel texture style. Since the game is still a big influence on the indie scene, I hope this convinces more devs to try making original-looking stuff with the graphical style, kinda like Psychopomp and Voices of the Void.
Admittedly, I'm biased towards the style myself because it seems like something I could achieve with my current dev skillset and limited art experience.
