Civvie 11 - Retro FPS Boomer

I feel like I need to preface, because the site. But this was a good video to me. I didn't have a ton of games Jazz was one. I didn't grasp why 2 wasn't as good. I has a sega so I knew "fast" I liked the game. I guess I'm showing my age. You'd need to remember areas. Or run. As a pre teen I just remember running it and running the game sprint slow sprint.

Either way, eh I saw the flaws and he's not wrong but game made me happy anyone remembered it!

Now i'm working on installing for my weekend fun.

The youtoob algo somehow popped up his old "Pro Blood" video series, it was quite comfy to rewatch, it reminded me why I subbed to his channel in the first place and used to lurk his Discord forum long before he broke the 50k subscribers. I get the impression that the tone and edge he had in his old videos has diluted over time.

There's also running out of material and the problem of how many variations of John Carmack AI or Greasy Randy can you do before it gets repetetive. Part of the reason why he's making content on things like Jazz Jackrabbit that are totally out of his field.

Jazz Jackrabbit will always hold a special place in my heart from the time I spent playing it on my grandmothers PC when I was still young.

He can always do Pro Call of Duty(all of them) or Pro Halo, like his fanbase TRULY wants him to.

Call of Chtulchu, everyone?
Neo-Tokyo when, Vampire: The Masquerade series when, stoned by a cross when, Martyr series when, Conflict series when, No Respect when, Hunter and Hunted when, etc etc etc.

Eh, not really, there is plenty of games of variable quality made within the span of 30+ years. He have plenty of.
Problem is, for get most of these he'll have to visit the Green Tides. I wont judge, his estrogen riddled audience? Try to guess.

It's over.

George Broussard, single-handedly responsible for keeping Duke Nukem Forever in development hell, weighed in.

Daily reminder that we could have had the DNF that was shown on that trailer in the late '90s, using the Unreal 1 engine, but he kept redoing the whole fucking game because "ooh new shiny game engine, let's move over to that one".

>starts speaking of Build Engine
>Blood to be discussed

>It's boomer shooter
That's a turnoff right the fuck off. An actual insult to the game and early games of FPS genre as in whole.

What a faggot...

Though I agree that Monolith closed is a tremendous loss for the industry. I'll keep my hopes and faith in the devs that they'll manage to reform and start anew, possibly take back both FEAR and Blood IPs into them hands and will work out some good games within either universe.

Aliens vs. Predator 2, I would wager.
Either that or No One Lives Forever. I give it 50/50 odds.

Now I want to sperg about AVP 2:

Even though I thought the single player for AVP 1 by Rebellion was scarier in the Marine campaign, AVP 2 is the better game by and large. It had an actual story, 3 complete campaigns with the FULL Alien life cycle where you play as a Facehugger, facerape a dude, burst out, then run and grow. The Predator campaign incorporated the spear and netgun and the Marine finally got his shotgun (a weapon sorely missing in AVP 1). But the multiplayer... Holy shit, it was the best multiplayer of all the games. There were TDM, species death match, Corporate Mercs VS Marines, AND the full Alien lifecycle where you could evolve into a Queen. The Marine's had rideable mechs in multi, too. Whereas Predators kind of got fucked over and got nothing new in the Primal Hunt expansion.

There were fucktons of mods and even a total conversion that added the temple from the AVP movie with the shifting walls and gave the Predator giant wristblades.

IF, big fucking IF, IF it ever got re-released the mod scene would be insane. Even better if it's remade in the KEX engine like all of Nightdive's games and the mod scene is fully implemented even if everything would have to be redone from scratch.

That's not even the UE1 version of DNF, it's the Quake 2 version (which had barely any work done to it before the engine switch), and as much as i like to shit on fatass George Broussard for chasing trends for 12 years instead of finishing the game, he understood Duke better than Gearbox and didn't saw the character as a living clown like how Gearbox and zoomers see him nowadays, which makes me afraid of a new Duke game.
You mean the leaked 2001 version that's now "fully playable"?

Civvie even played a beta:
That project is also fucked, it's being developed by butthurt trannies and faggots who lash out at any criticism towards them, and they also use Hsexpestguy as a beta tester.
