Also today is Special Operations Forces' Day in the RF. The choice of date is timed to coincide with the events of February 2014 in Crimea, when our soldiers ensured order at strategic facilities and peace on the peninsula. At the same time, their special politeness towards the local population was especially noted. Link
That's not a Leopard 2, looks like a BMP-1 with some added modifications.

Edit, interesting. I was wondering why the drivers hatch was on the right while on the BMP it's on the left, then I noticed everyone waving with their left hand. The video is flipped.

TLDR: As hasn’t been mentioned a whole lot, the “deal” is just a framework. A declaration saying X that doesn’t actually carry any obligations. They’re hoping to string Trump along until Dems and Neocons (and Eurofags. LOL!) can mount an opposition to Trump.

I hope Trump is really smarter than this. He needs to be very careful with getting bogged down in Ukraine and needs to wash his hands off it ASAP while still negotiating with Russia on other issues.

Hopefully the new DNI can show him some transcripts of intercepts that’ll show the situation as is and cure Trump of any deal making illusions.

It's a bit of a game of chicken on both sides. The French are saying that the US cancelled the meeting on Wednesday, and it was only reinstated after Zelensky rang Macron who in turn spoke to Trump.

INFO BFMTV. Trump a voulu annuler la venue de Zelensky à Washington mais Macron l'en a dissuadé

But surely the Ukrainians are trustworthy?

Some speculation you won't see reported in the Western press

And an unlikely voice speaking up for Trump. Not sure of the original source, but I doubt he's speaking directly to pro-Russian telegram bloggers.

There's a very simple solution for Trump when it comes to the Ukraine; doing nothing. No money, no weaponry, no visas, no Starlink, no returning calls.

I'm pretty sure everyone was expecting a last-minute renegotiation attempt from the beginning. If Zelensky shows up starting that BS we'll have more than enough reason to cut them loose for good because they'll be proven liars on the world stage.

"Zelensky has lied to us and the world one too many times, the USA is officially walking away from this debacle."

BBC Verify: Viral Donald Trump Jr audio highly likely AI fake

A widely shared clip of Donald Trump Jr allegedly saying on his podcast that the US should have sent arms to Russia rather than Ukraine has been very likely generated using AI, audio forensics experts have told BBC Verify. Olga Robinson explains why the audio is suspect.
Why not just fucking ring him. "Hey Junior, it's the BBC. Did you say this?" Are they afraid he might say "Yes"?

They are probably trying to frustrate efforts at rapidly being geolocated, but cannot count how many times I've seen flipped videos without any plausible reason.

Let's see what Ukrainian frens are posting on Telegram:

The key sticking points could be: the size of the army, the status of the Russian language, and the desire to withdraw from controlled territories. These are the absolute red lines that must not be crossed under any circumstances. If there is no understanding on these issues, then the war must continue with maximum militarization of the economy—these matters cannot be subject to compromise.

I'm sure peace is just around the corner. Any day now...
