No horror sheep in this one, I wonder if it's getting a redesign? I feel like I'd enjoy it more if it was just the kid characters, Jason Momoa and sassy black lady just feel tacked on and out of place.

This had the feel of a bad Super Bowl commercial for Minecraft with celebrities. The only difference it's a full length movie.

Anyone get the feeling that the script for this was for a whole different movie and they just changed enough to be Minecraft stuff or how this movie was desinged by a office comitee?

I personally think they just took the new Jumanji movies scripts and changed the character names and crtl+f replaced the word "jungle" for "mine".
This would 100% star The Rock and Kevin Hart too if they could get away with it, but that would be too obvious so they got a different famous samoan guy and a different wacky black.
Alternatively this could be going to chat gpt and saying "write a movie like Jumanji but for Minecraft" would not be suprised at all.

Wow! Where to begin? This has the feeling of a trailer produced for a late-night talk show like Leno or O'Brien. Maybe it's because I never played Minecraft this feels more like your unhip parents movie than for the Minecraft fans.

I was going to say something about how that trope is so old and tired that it might actually happen but remembering that this movie was in pre-production for almost 10 years that checks out.
