Ubisoft Sellout - Bankruptcy Speedrun Any% Thread

That doesn't automatically mean lawsuit. Unless he fails to comply by taking down the fake bullshit, which he SHOULD have done and issued a retraction when he found out it was fake.
Speaking of taking down, turns out McDizzle Gaming is taking down some of his certain videos along with his certain tweets to avoid getting in trouble by Ubisoft. Good thing the tweet is archived.

I doubt it'll amount to much. He probably got a similar C&D. Yeah, he lied but SmashJT was the idiot who didn't verify anything in the first place and then kept it up after being made aware it was false. It doesn't really matter who sent it to him or what they did after the fact. He had a responsibility to deal with it after he very publicly became aware that the information was false.

Ubisoft themselves have much bigger fish to fry internally and especially now externally due to the fact that the whole damned game got leaked a month in advance. The average person doesn't follow things like all of the details of the dumb shit surrounding the game. But they will notice that, understand what it means, find footage of it, etc. and possibly cancel preorders or just not bother to buy it since Ubisoft has lost complete control of the marketing and any hype they could hope to salvage for the game.

Also about Ubishit, it seems like the devs of The Division 2 have fucked up the recent update. The game is unplayable on Linux.
They talked about it a bit on the livestream, and there's a post on the Trello. Apparently it's an issue with updated anti-cheat measures: https://trello.com/c/7gymUqER/280-anticheatpc-some-players-may-experience-compatibility-issues

Of course Division devs being Division devs they also fucked a bunch of other shit up as well. For instance they somehow broke directives so turning on special ammo also turns on scavenged skills, this despite the fact they didn't (or shouldn't have at least) touched either of those directives, or the directives system in general. The journey is no longer shared between characters, despite enemy seasonal modifiers being tied to your journey progression, meaning you can unlock all your modifiers on one character, and then play on an alt who hasn't done the journey so the enemy doesn't get their bonus.

In additions there are some things that aren't fuckups per-se but baffling design choices. Despite talking about how people hated the journey last season for being too grindy, there's a ridiculous bunch of shit on this one, namely you have to manage your momentum at a very specific level for multiple minutes at a time, and do this up to 10 times to finish one journey mission. The only practical way of doing this is sitting in the fucking range and very carefully shooting targets at specific intervals for a total of literally hours. Then there's the weekly manhunt scouts. Last season they had those dogshit vague riddles that everyone hates. This season they tell you specifically what you need to do at each step, in binary. In what fucking world is that supposed to be interesting or fun?

They better not pull a R6 Siege with their anti-cheat. EAC worked fine on Linux until now.

Wow. That gimmick is so lame and sometimes the requirements don't work properly, I got stuck at the 4th tier if I'm not mistaken because it was such a pain in the ass to complete some of the challenges. I thought they would have brought back the ability to complete the manhunt for each character (more loot and you can level up the gear faster).
No fun allowed I guess.

No way... I already can't stand the female AI with her ironic tone. Why couldn't they write ANNA like ISAC?

I wouldn't hold out hope for them to fix it because let's face it, the current devs can probably barely fix lunch, let alone a game.

Which ones are you stuck on? I managed to cheese basically all of them in the White House shooting range. I finished it on my main character yesterday and I'm at 6/7 on my alt even while basically half assing it while watching TV in the other monitor

Why couldn't they write ANNA like ISAC?
Lorewise the entire point of ISAC is everyone hated ANNA because she's an obnoxious bitch female so they made ISAC specifically to be different to her

The one from the previous season. I haven't played this week since the recent update fucked up the EAC. I guess I will install the game on my Windows 10 SSD.

Ah yeah last season's were absolute cancer. Other than the XP events I basically didn't play until the last 5 or 6 weeks because of them. I had Mission 5 tracked on screen and every time I logged in I'd play a couple of minutes, look at the list of shit to do and lose all motivation. Eventually I found some good suggestions for the easiest ones to do and basically forced myself to do one task everyday before playing properly, and all for a god awful mask I'll never wear lol. Only good thing about last season was it eventually got me to play Descent for the first time since launch and I realized it isn't entirely dogshit. Currently doing at least the Weekly Mission for it so i can slowly collect the Named item blueprints.

Hey, remember McDizzle who pretended to be a Ubisoft employee to be whistleblowing Smash JT until he admitted he was only pretending just to trick him and other YouTube ranters? Ubisoft now found out about this, and they send a Cease & Desist letter to Smash JT instead of focusing on McDizzle pretending to be a Ubisoft employee. First Alyssa Mercante is suing him, now Ubisoft.
Speaking of taking down, turns out McDizzle Gaming is taking down some of his certain videos along with his certain tweets to avoid getting in trouble by Ubisoft. Good thing the tweet is archived.
Ubisoft told Smash JT that McDizzle also got C&D'd, and McDizzle confirmed it. (archive)

Any of the videos in Preservetube or downloaded? I think I got Smash's "I got got" in there, before he edited it to blur the employee's stolen name: Runze Zhu. Which I'm sure is all over the place, not that he did anything wrong.

So how are Kikepedia and Co. going to "Historically Revise" the downfall of Ubisoft? Too many evil Whites not accepting the shitskins? A bad economy (due to Trump of course)? Anything but the actual reasons I imagine.
Since (((Thomas Lockley))) got kicked out of his professorship at a Japanese university and is currently a free agent they could throw him a few bucks to whip up a nice fanfic based off 2 paragraphs of historical sources and then pass it off as actualy history. He's got a lot of experience in that and it'd be a shame to see it go to waste.

I thought anno 1800 was pretty decent. Certainly better than most modern ubisoft games
It is the best game made by Ubisoft in a decade. It's just 50% discount on a nearly decade old game is a bit weak. My guess is because it's the only game that sold well and the types of people who buy Anno games buy them at a higher base price than others.

Had a quick look at the Steam sale. Was briefly tempted to pick up Breakpoint since i didn't play it when it came out. Then I went to the game page and there's like 4 different fucking versions, because of course there are, and none of them tell you what you get in the different versions, because of course they don't. Shit like this is why I don't by ubisoft games. Well that and because Ubisoft games are for the most part shit and not worth buying.

I think DLC contains like 10 missions that last about an hour.
To be honest. None of that is really that good or worthwhile. The main campaign is the funny kind of bad but the conquest mode is great for the gameplay. Especially if you tweak it they way you like it.

I appreciate that, problem is they literally don't tell you which one has the DLC in it:

I googled the various editions and found an Ubi article that explains what's in each (apparently gold has the season pass, and the others have some gay cosmetics). Honestly I feel like when you have to write support articles to explain the differences between the multiple versions of the game you're selling, you should maybe take a step back and assess your business.
