I am not an expert, but I believe Zelensky made a big mistake. He walked into a trap. Trump and Vance have cracked him. It was a classic setup: Vance started being antagonistic with Zelensky, Zelensky pushed back and then Trump joined in and took control of the situation. Also there were US politicians asking questions unfavourable to Zelensky as a backup. This was well thought out beforehand. Even if you hate Trump or disagree with him you have to respect his negotiation skills.
