If anyone wants to watch a film I'd recommend Female Trouble over Pink Flamingos for a first one, it's very similar but much better produced when they all were a little bit more experienced.

Most of the gays and lesbians that I’ve met throughout my life were some of the most honest motherfuckers ever. When the topic of sex/attraction was brought up, they were unequivocal that TiMs and TiFs were men and women, respectively, and that they had unwaveringly ZERO interest in anyone who wasn’t the same sex as them. During these discussions, they’d laugh at the TWAW/TMAM delusion, and proudly reject it in a strangely dutiful fashion.

That's interesting, I did wonder if the inconsistent pronoun usage could be due to him being Filipino and consequently putting the English language through a woodchipper in the process of him typing. Sounds to me like the grandma may have just been uttering her last incomprehensible senile words and he just opportunistically took that to mean she was totes non-binary this whole time (despite such a thing not even being possible in the Filipino language, by the sounds of it).

Also it would be remiss of me to not point out that repressing being 'non-binary' doesn't cause liver cancer, as the original post implies. Granted I'm no expert in the field, but I feel fairly confident in making that claim.

Went to the craft store with my mom for a big sale. I was going to wear a dress but I've been very dysphoric lately so I opted for my hoodie and beanie. As we're checking out the clerk says "how're you ladies?" then looks to me and says "oh you're not a lady are you?".

My date basically called me desperate ​

We finally got to see each other again after a few weeks of scheduling conflicts. She came over and we cuddled for a bit, which was nice. Then, out of nowhere, she said (in regards to my Twitter presence) that I shouldn't be the 'reply girl' on every other trans person's post, and that it makes me look "desperate." I didn't know what to say, so I basically ignored it.

Transgender individuals face high levels of prejudice in interpersonal relationships. However, limited experimental research has examined the role of identity disclosure on anti-transgender prejudice.
Methods
Drawing upon research on distrust and identity disclosure, two between-participants experiments (total n = 802) examined the role of intentional and unintentional identity disclosure on negative attitudes (Studies 1 & 2), perceived deception (Studies 1 & 2) and distrust (Study 2) toward two potentially concealable and historically distrusted identities (transgender and atheist). Specifically, the current studies examine the impact of a target’s stigmatized identity (transgender or atheist) and method of disclosure (intentional or unintentional) on perceptions of the target, perceived deceptiveness, and distrust toward the target.
Results
Our findings demonstrated that compared to atheists, transgender targets elicited greater levels of prejudice and were viewed as more deceptive, and that this effect was amplified if the target did not intentionally reveal their identity. Study 2 demonstrated that perceived deception mediated the relationship between reveal type (i.e., intentional vs. unintentional) and prejudice toward participants who read about a transgender (but not atheist) target.
Discussion

I guess what I was getting at is that woman is a state of being, but troons like to conflate it with being a collection of feminine traits and costuming. Women don't have to "try" to be women, they are women, even if there's parts of your body and style/presentation that aren't exactly like the beauty standard or what society says is feminine. A bulldyke who never shaves anything and wears only flannel shirts, cargo pants, and hunting fatigues is still a woman, and a guy who dresses himself up like a cheap whore is still a man.
You don't need to hate the "masculine" features you have. I like mine, they mean I'm strong. And it's OK for women to be strong.

Those exploitation movie directors used to push it too far a lot of the time in search of shock factor, Cannibal Holocaust killing live animals, Mondo Cane and Africa Addio using real execution footage, etc.
