People criticize Zelensky's clothing because it's clearly just a costume. He's trying to come across as the tough wartime president who's fighting the good fight, but he's not a soldier. He's supposed to be a leader, and there's a time and place to wear your t-shirt and army pants.

You don't dress down to meet heads of state, just like you don't wear your pajamas to a court hearing, a wedding, or a funeral. Putting some effort into your appearance shows at least a small amount of respect for the people who you're appearing in front of.

That's fair, but Trump is hardly acting presidential even while he is in a suit.
