Yeah, I kind of like the steampunk octopus look myself. There's only so much modern minimalism that I can take. Live a little, ffs.
It's not that it's a steampunk octopus, it's that it's a shitty steampunk octopus physical equivalent of shovelware. Octopus is a perfectly cromulent bathroom motif, even if you have to be a little careful about octopus-themed hooks so the arms don't break off.

Super secret bathroom hack They don't want you to know about: the double-sided shower curtain hooks, for liner and curtain:

This helps to keep the curtain on the outside of the tub, the liner on the inside of the tub, with air space between them. If you're lucky sometimes a horrible monster walks along the perfectly dry side wall of the tub and yowls/whacks at you through the liner while you're trying to bathe, through the curtain while you're sitting on the toilet.

Second secret trick: you don't have to buy vinyl liners; you can just buy liner-priced thin vinyl (etc) shower curtains and use them as a liner. This way you get two patterns.

I've never seen someone hang two shower curtains at the same time in my life. Is this a regional thing?

I grew up in the same region as Polly and a regular curtain + a separate clear vinyl liner was standard. The decorative curtain was out of the tub while the vinyl one was inside and caught the water. Although worth noting my mom also preferred fabric ones that she'd change out by the season, so preventing mildew as much as possible was paramount. And ain't no way that curtain isn't going to be grody as hell by summer, given what's known about their living conditions.

Polissa cranked out a quick rant video because despite just moving into a new place, seeing the way Zelenskyy was treated by Trump and Vance on live air makes her want to flee the country if Trump isn't overthrown soon.

*huff* I don't know how much more I can take being here in the United States right now! Trump is moving too far, too fast! And he's, it's like a wrecking ball is coming through the United States right now!

And then, to add insult to injury, the alienation of our allies? Is disgusting! I just watched Trump and Vance tear down on public, live feed, President Zelenskyy! Tear him down! Yell at him, speak over him, belittle him, say he's not being thankful enough! Practically expecting him to grovel! And then, Trump goes on a rant about Hunter Biden's laptop again!

Y'all, I can't! I can't do four years of this! So something's gotta happen! Something has to happen to remove this man from office, and soon! Because none of us want more! And that's what is happening!

If I use a fabric shower curtain, I put a vinyl liner with it. If it's a vinyl shower curtain it can fend for itself.

Polissa should move to Ukraine and fight alongside the poor and oppressed, then one day she will be seen as a hero and made their leader.
(Not really but if we convince her of it maybe she'll go there and stop stinking up the USA)

It sounds like a cold weather thing. Double anything in the subtropics is just going to trap insane amounts of mold.
No, it's even better in the hot, humid southern US. The clear vinyl liner can be thrown in your washing machine on cold water setting. I used to do that once a week when I lived in a swamp-like region. Your actual (outer) shower curtain stays nice and non-molded if it's at all breathable, and doesn't need to be washed often.

So why not just have the vinyl curtain by itself?

In Australia we just use a vinyl curtain. Why have two when one is enough? I don’t think I’ve even seen a fabric shower curtain here.

Just for decorative purposes.
And, as we have just learned, some people's moms have opinions on how these things are done. ❤️

If you want a special-looking shower curtain, it can be hard to find what you want in vinyl for a reasonable price.
For example: at Target, at least circa five years ago, you could get a plain clear liner for about $5 and a fancy fabric one for an additional $5-$15 (or probably more, depending on how fancy you wanted to be).

If you wanted to get a decorative vinyl curtain, though, you'd have to go on Amazon, BedBathEtc, or another dedicated retailer, and pay at least $30.

I personally opted to go with the double option for less money overall, and just take appropriate precautions to prevent mold. Once every few months, I wash the curtain and the liner with various other linens or non-linens -- usually the bath mat and towels, both of which need to be washed more often than every few months, though.
No problems with mildew or mold at all so far, even in a Mediterranean climate.

If you don't have particular stylistic taste and do expect other people to buy all your shit for you, like Pol does, I guess it doesn't really matter though.

Also, she will get mold and mildew no matter what, since she never cleans and isn't proactive about anything.

Polissa continually and conveniently forgets… like him or not, Trump was legitimately elected. Barring some catastrophic event, he is the President for the next 4 years.

What she should be focusing on is how to get herself off gibs before they’re snatched from her. Judging by what Trump has tried to do so far, he doesn’t believe in sacred cows - why wouldn’t recipients of all manner of government gibs not be re-examined?

I suspect they will be and soon. At which point her unhinged screeching should reach epic levels.

When you've spent your entire life as disgusting and lazy as Polissa, you should just adjust to yourself. She should have just bought the 1.25 shower curtain at Dollar Tree and thrown it in the garbage when it got too moldy.

She should use cardboard boxes piled up for storage, and toss those out when she wrecks them somehow. Walmart sells 200 paper plates for 9.97. She can grab handfuls of disposable forks when she gets near a takeout joint. Grab paper napkins to use as cleaning towels, face wipers or whatever.

Amazon sells 6 packs of queen sheets that are something like 30 bucks for flat or fitted. That will last her for three years without doing laundry. It's not like she's going to wash her sheets until they're unspeakable filthy.
What she should be focusing on is how to get herself off gibs before they’re snatched from her.
There's serious talk of RFK Jr pushing to ban soda from food stamp eligibility. Goodbye Mellow Yellow.

So they should. It’s not like it’s an essential, except for death cows like Polly. Jimmy Dean’s should also be off the table.

I spend about Aus$10 for mine. Always white so I can see the minute they start to get nasty. They are fabric treated with a water resistant product. Once a month they get a wash in bleach, and most last for about ten years. Plus they don’t cling if you buy a decent product to begin with. I replace more curtain rings than I do shower curtains.

Don’t you love it that Pissa is so boring we can sperg about international shower curtain customs. 😂

Especially since she doesn't appear to have a liner. So the curtain is going to be a mildew factory in no time. Also if she doesn't keep it tucked into the bath then water is going all over the floor, soaking the bathmat (if she has one) which will also mildew. But I have a feeling Pissa already smells like mildew because she seems like the type to forget her laundry in the washer for a few days.

Buy cloth liners, you can throw them in the wash. Reeee.

The native creatures will peek on you and it's invasive. No one wants a shadow person staring at you through the clear vinyl.

Check this out:

Piss could do this, but she won't.

Is it normal for such a small apartment to have a bathtub instead of just a shower? I’ve been in many much larger places that don’t have a bath. Not that she can lay down in that thing anyways. She’ll probably whine about how she can’t comfortably stand in such a narrow space or that it’s too slippery (honestly the showers at the YMCA are probably more suitable for her) and it will go unused until a neglected cat gives birth in it or something.
