It's not that it's a steampunk octopus, it's that it's a shitty steampunk octopus physical equivalent of shovelware. Octopus is a perfectly cromulent bathroom motif, even if you have to be a little careful about octopus-themed hooks so the arms don't break off.Yeah, I kind of like the steampunk octopus look myself. There's only so much modern minimalism that I can take. Live a little, ffs.
Super secret bathroom hack They don't want you to know about: the double-sided shower curtain hooks, for liner and curtain:

This helps to keep the curtain on the outside of the tub, the liner on the inside of the tub, with air space between them. If you're lucky sometimes a horrible monster walks along the perfectly dry side wall of the tub and yowls/whacks at you through the liner while you're trying to bathe, through the curtain while you're sitting on the toilet.
Second secret trick: you don't have to buy vinyl liners; you can just buy liner-priced thin vinyl (etc) shower curtains and use them as a liner. This way you get two patterns.
