Sometimes when going outside I find discarded, empty packets of some sort of green cannabis (gum?) on the ground. Unsure of what exactly it is, but it is always in Hindustanese. It's funny how they come and live here, but don't have the common decency not to litter. They're a literal disease.

Why does it feel like our society has gone numb to the horror of rape cases happening every single day? The day-to-day cases that happen in each of our states, each of our districts. People say they have grown tired, numb, not so surprised anymore. Do people even know what rape is anymore? Like, for fuck’s sake, when has this country—infamous for being called the rape capital of the world—ever taken real, major action against sexual assaults on its own citizens? Every now and then, a major case arises, only when it involves a gang rape or a minor, when it’s so horrific that humanity must be shaken.

I wonder if people act unsurprised because they don’t know what actual rape is. Do they think a girl gets forced to have sex with a guy and that’s it? Like, yeah, that’s it? Fuck off. Have you ever had the misfortunate experience of seeing what a rape victim looks like after being brutally assaulted and killed? No, it is not like in the movies. It is fucking gruesome. Imma say it raw for the guys out there—imagine someone forcing themselves into your butthole without your consent, relentlessly doing it again and again, ignoring your cries or struggles, treating you like nothing more than a piece of meat, a thing to be used and discarded. Does that feel repulsive to you? Does that make you want to never experience something even close to that in your life?

I've seen guys act so afraid of places where they had an encounter with a gay person hitting on them at night, but those same people can’t use their brains to comprehend that it’s the same for women in every single place they have to visit alone, no matter what time it is.

For god’s sake, I assure you, all your insensitivity is only going to last until you see one of your loved ones lose their entire character, their smile, their light fade away. When you see your sister shut herself in a room, shaking. When you feel helpless because you have no idea how to approach her or comfort her. When you are so angry you just want to rip apart the person who made her feel that way. It doesn’t even have to be the most vile version. Even a bad experience from a man when alone, getting groped, getting catcalled, all of these are enough for your loved ones to break.

So please, use your brain to teach yourself that this is not about a gender war. It’s about realization. About how fucked up our society is, how fucked up our mentalities are.

Fuck the dark/dank memes. They are not cool. They only give more confidence to rapists and rapist apologists while they target victims. You might think it’s edgy or funny to share those memes, but the guilt that follows when reality hits close to home will be unbearable.

And if you think this is just another rant, then at least do one thing—educate yourself. Call out toxic behavior when you see it. Support victims instead of silencing them. Because if you don’t care now, the day it happens to someone you love, you’ll wish you had.

I was just thinking, what if when buying real estate in India one of the major factors is easy access to a designated shitting street? "As you can see the house is far enough away from the shitting street that you can only smell it on very hot summer days, which is most days in summer, but, it is still a reasonable walk to the shitting street so it isn't a major inconvenience in case you wake up in the middle of the night and need to use the shitting street. It really is a homeowners dream come true!"
