Haven't been here for a while. I decided to do something different and return to KR to not fry my brain with TNO's jank. I tried of all things the new update which seems to be the Three I. I played Mussolini's Italy and in a strange way whomever wrote it must have tard wrangled hard to keep the German team and the tism from them away. There's no autistic card game and its a simple balance of power mechanics like in vanilla just more so based on the trade unions vs Mussolini's cult of personality. Not sure how you would get radsocs Vs Syndies since things seem to be focused more so on Totalists vs everyone else but whatevs. The only thing I have to say that is negative, and this is something pointed out both here and else where is its VERY clear that totalists are the token bad teammate for the 3I and are put there to not make them seem so biased.
Before I did Italy I did 3I France and it was normal. I went down the anarchist path. Pretty boring and nothing really major. However when comparing it to Mussolini and his path, the entire thing is portrayed as bad and unwholesome and not chungus. Mussolini focuses power on himself and not on the trade unions and disregards whatever red parliament they have. They even took a page out of Kaiserredux for once and they outright call the Totalist strand in Italy fascist. So fascism is just outright left-wing canonically in KR. It gets stranger since its peppered with events that finger wag at you on how you are ruining this wholesome (single party state) democracy by making a personality cult around Mussolini who still uses black shirts and calls them black shirts.
It was just jarring since playing as France you get wholesome events about how good socialism is, how its awesome, workers are empowered, and a bunch of other crap but if you do it ever so slightly authoritarian like in real life its all of a sudden bad. Though think its strange then still since I am pretty sure Valois and Deat. both actual fascists and in the case with Deat an actual national socialist and collaberator do not get the same finger wagging. UOB has a similar plotline as I remember someone LOOOOOOONG ago in this thread posted how Mosley can fuck up and his wife leaves him and he ends up homeless. Why a communist state would not help out the poor, downtrodden, and needy is beyond me aside from Mosley was a Chud!
Anywho basically that. KR has the HOI4 mod problem of trying to finger wag you and its quite clear that they are upset people keep using totalists to point out 3I is not as wholesome. I am pretty convinced its done this way on purpose as I almost never see AI Italy or Britain go Totalist anymore. Find it funny too but they give you outs as well. Balls deep down Mussolini's tree and you get a chance to have him killed which thankfully is done by an event you get to decide the outcome of via a button press. If you decide Mussolini is killed then the typical normie syndie guys takes charge and things go back to normal. Mind you this comes AFTER a prior event where you get two options again where some members of the red guard urge the military to depose Mussolini which you get the option of the coup going ahead or the military respecting the process to allow Mussolini's election to pass. I bring this up as it means the AI has to win a balance of power and then pick the right choice TWICE in order for Mussolini and the fascists to stay in power. Essentially what I am saying that its rare to see Mussolini stay in power if he even is elected.
