From what I am reading you apply for an ESTA and it will last for two fucking years and he can enter multiple times for up to 90 days or less each time and works for business or pleasure (he may need a proper visa if he actually wants to make money though)

They approved mine like the same day I applied. I'm not sure how you could get rejected, you just supply them with your basic info and they let you in.

To be fair the website says ESTA is for "business or pleasure" but their definition of business is a bit more restrictive than one might thing. You can only go to negotiate contracts and stuff. It's a bit unclear on whether a khantent creator/influencer needs an actual proper business visa.

An ESTA isn't a visa, it's a visa waiver. When you apply for an ESTA it's almost always an immediate "yes" from the system if you're not a terrorist. If you're from an ESTA country and get denied the visa waiver then you need to apply for a visa.
