We've had the media traveling with the troops since WW2. It was great for PR up until Vietnam. But in this case, I'm pretty sure that someone might have been wondering around where they shoudn't be

On February 24, 2005 David Hernandez Arroyo Sr., 43, ambushed his ex-wife Maribel Estrada and their son David Hernandez Arroyo Jr., 23, outside of the Smith County Courthouse in Tyler Texas. Maribel was taking David to court over thousands in unpaid child support, David however had other ideas. Armed with an AK-47 clone David ambushed and shot his wife in the head, killing her, and shot his son in the leg, wounding him. A gun battle then ensured as officers inside the courthouse responded to the shooting outside, David however was wearing body armor and with his rifle he was able to easily keep the responding officers, many of whom only had handguns, at bay.

During the shooting a bystander with a a concealed carry permit and Colt 1911, Mark Alan Wilson, approaching David from behind. Seeing David aiming at his son, intent to kill him, Mark defended David's son by firing a round into David's back striking his body armor. David responded by redirecting his attention towards Mark firing several shots back at him. A brief firefight between the two ensued in which Mark was killed.

With more officers responding to the courthouse David decided to make his escape, by now more than 100 rounds had been fired by both sides. Climbing into his pickup truck David sped through the streets of Tyler, continuing to exchange gunfire with pursuing officers. Eventually a pursuing deputies, John Smith, managed to speed up and ram into David's truck. Intent on murdering the cop David exited his truck, weapon in hand, only to have John speed off, leaving David fully exposed to the responding law enforcement. A police sharpshooter, Rusty Jacks, then exited his patrol car with a Colt AR-15 and, taking aim, fired five at David, killing him instantly, this being captured on police dash cam (see below).

In total 3 people died during the shootout, David Hernandez Arroyo Sr. (the perpetrator), his ex-wife Maribel Estrada, and the intervening good Samaritan Mark Wilson. Four others were wounded, David Hernandez Arroyo Jr. and three law enforcement officers.

Commies cant be fixed. Once they buy into the ideals, its like they attach to their sentience and refuse to let it go. It doesnt matter how much failure, death and suffering communism caused, it will never because it doesnt work, it will always be because "its not real communism".

Its funny because you see these people talking about the dangers of blind faith in institutions like church, companies and capitalist governments but they seem to ignore that eventually they are required blind faith towards communist state.

A smart mind is able to detect these inconsistencies and not being ok with following something like that but I dont think we truly understand how much the human mind seems to despise the concept of individuality despite our greater capacity of understanding of the universe around us. Its like part of us struggle and want to return to the good old times where we didnt know any better and had the same level of awareness as other animals and followed basic hierarchies. The commie mind can be many things and I cant help but want to rationalize it with my sane curious mind but for the sake of brevity, they cant be fixed. You cant save them, they dont want to be saved and, maybe, they shouldnt be saved because once a mind demonstrates this level of weakness and struggle against its own nature, maybe they just arent meant to go on or else they will boycott others around them.

Like I said in that comment, modern China has very little confucianism left and it has mostly been replaced by Legalism. Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri's Human Hive faction is straight up the best example of this in a way that westerners can understand.

Escape ladders and ropes should be mandatory, I wouldn't accept an elevated dwelling without them now. I've seen too many examples of what neglecting to have them could do to you.

That's how firing squads work. They don't all shoot live ammunition, only one person has the live ammunition and the rest just fire blanks.

The Japanese do something similar when hanging, all three guards press a button to open the trap door and let them hang, but only one button is actually connected to the trap door, the other identical buttons are just dummy buttons that aren't hooked up to anything.
