Norway puts almost all of the profits from oil into a sovereign wealth fund and have been very hesitant to spend from it. They certainly do have a welfare state similar to many other European (and particularly Scandinavian) countries, but they had that before the oil and it's still funded through taxes. They tax their middle class more heavily than we tax the extremely rich who pay the vast majority of our taxes. The income tax rate is 47% and they have a 25% VAT tax which is similar to sales tax in the US. Turns out free healthcare isn't actually free.

Someone there was smart enough to realize that using all of that money would result in the population becoming dependent on it or more likely lead to Dutch disease and cause more economic problems down the road. I would not liken them to Saudi Arabia outside of having a lot of oil.

In order for diplomacy with Russia to work, all parties have to play nice. But Zelensky refused. And secondly, he asked for US Troops in Ukraine instead of accepting an immediate ceasefire, so Trump had to throw him out.

I am somewhat surprised he didn't take the opportunity to also rename "English" as "American" a la The Gulf of America.

It's a brilliant move, because like the renaming of the Gulf, firing all the useless Federal workers, cutting the wasteful spending on woke foreign aid, banning trannies from girls sports, etc, it puts the Democrats in an impossible position.

Sure, the next President can undo all this shit with Executive Orders, but the optics would look horrible. Imagine AOC or Newsom running on a platform of "If elected, I will rehire millions of Federal workers who were unfairly fired! I will restore billions in foreign aid and ensure LGBTQ rights are funded around the world with masturbation sessions, dance classes, and basket weaving clinics! I like the idea but I think the reason it never happened was because a lot of European immigrants at the founding spoke like 30 different languages.

It didn’t happen until now because it went without saying. When all of your founding documents and laws are written in English guess what your nation’s language is.

It’s the same reason they didn’t explicitly state that the first amendment was meant for political and religious speech and not pornography, or that the second amendment was for protection against a tyrannical government (most people would have starved to death without guns to hunt with, so it went without saying they could have guns for hunting).

Trump, who is already pissed at him, calls him out. Trump doesn't think Zelensky is willing to try to make a peace deal, kicks him out of the Whitehouse. We are now waiting to see the responses.

Vance and Trump were in a bad place with Ukraine. Half their supporters are on the boomer esque America Number 1 we are heroes brainrot (see retards like Welper) and the other half want out now.

More troubling is that most of congress including what is a plurality of Rs are on the Ukraine cock sucking thread. Faggots like Graham. Trump almost certainly agreed to try and continuing in exchange for his appointee's getting in.

So now he needs to give something to the rest of his base to convince them the money situation will get better. Graham goes the minerals angle. Problem with minerals is Europe had a designs on those. I don't know Russian so take my comment with a grain of salt, but from what I've gathered, cyka blyatt or whatever the phrase is can also just mean "oh fuck me..." or "son of a bitch." But Zelenskyyyy is such a little kike worm that it wouldn't surprise me if it was intended as an insult.

Either way, hardly appropriate. Looking at it, though, and I only have a bit of understanding of slavic languages, I think saying "oh fuck me" or "son of a bitch" would have been cyk blyat. Almost positive it couldn't fit the "oh fuck me" because then Zelenskyy would have been referring to himself in the feminine.

Not positive, but I'd be surprised.

Regardless, showing up looking like a bum, talking over the US President and his vice-President in their 'home', and using extremely vulgar language should have gotten him booted. Not to mention trying to 'litigate' as Vance said, his views to the media when he was there to sign off on starting the process of acquiring long term US protection and ending the destruction of his country.
