reddit General

Just discovered there's this community called r/sillyboyclub, but it's just mentally ill teenagers posting depressed anime drawings of themselves while not seeking help from anyone outside their clique. I guess it's easy to talk about this stuff as long as you use a :3 emoji at the end? Just creepy and unhealthy, as many other subreddits.

frankly I saw that and thought they were all pooners

"We have freedom of speech! Just don't say anything illegal!"
I really don't understand this one. They seem to think that it still counts as freedom of speech even if you can be arrested for saying certain things. But by that standard, what would they consider to be "not freedom of speech"? Like, would people have to be physically muzzled for them to say that it is an infringement on freedom of speech?

Edit to add:
You think Redditors (and shitlibs in general) are ever gonna mellow out on Trump? Dubya and Cheyney were their ultimate supervillains for damn near a decade, but in time Dems were begging for an endorsement from them against Drumpf.

I'm at least 60% sure that by the end of his term the left is gonna be completely gassed out from fuming over Trump for over a decade. Remember that until around 2022 Reddit was utterly smitten with Musk and around 2012-2013 every post in r/pics was about how badass Putin was. They're perhaps more fanatical than ever, but these people have zero convictions or loyalties beyond who can provide them a sense of moral righteousness and consumerist comfort. I think the only reason they've been so fanatically anti-Trump for so long is that his victory in 2016 was such an intense undoing of their sense of reality that they felt they had no choice but to continually double down on the rhetoric that turned everyone against them.

Don't mean to derail the thread, but this new wave of "AMERICA IS DONE RUSSIA WON IT'S OVER WW3 NOW" got me thinking, is all.
I noticed this a few election cycles ago. The Democrats really love the "Republicans are racist, misogynist, xenophobic, etc. etc." shtick. But to keep their base energized, every election cycle the have to say, "I know we basically said the last Republican candidate was Hitler 2, but this one is even worse!" From Bush to McCain to Romney to Trump, their rhetoric just got more and more extreme. I fucking guarantee that the next Republican presidential candidate, whoever it is, will be called "worse than Trump," and in 12 to 16 years the Democrats will be saying things like "this new Republican candidate is just crazy, at least with Trump you knew where he was coming from even if you didn't like him!"

This fat "religious affairs specialist" national guardsman hulking hon bravely shook hands with a politician and said thank you

Haha. Have you ever heard the Nixon tapes where he names the Jews?

Remember when a bunch of Reddit Admins got doxxed and not only were they mostly troons, were also sexual predators?

Seems to happen a lot. How odd.

EDIT because my 2nd point didn't add for some reason.

Always hilarious to see the PizzaCake jackass get updoots. Someone recently sent her OnlyFans nudes to her kids and she was pretty mad about it. Kids, your mom is a whore and a pathetic cartoonist who's nudes are somehow worse then her art.

What a cuck for a husband to put up with all that lmao.

What is a hint that a Reddit story is fake?
I like a bunch of responses here.
  • When they make a point to mentioin how half the people involved agree with the OP, and the other half disagree.....Every. Single. Time. They think it adds realism to add more charecters.
  • No paragraphs.
  • They enter an area or walk near a group at the EXACT RIGHT TIME to hear secret information.
They keep adding to their plight as the story goes on.
“My boyfriend (23M) and I (21F) live together in my apartment. We’ve been together for 11 yrs. I’m 9 months pregnant, while working full time, and studying for the bar exam, while he sits at home playing video games, and doesn’t even clean. We also have 2 kids, and he has another one from a previous relationship. The mom is a drug addict, so I take care of them on top of everything else.
This morning, I asked my boyfriend to rinse his plate before he put it in the dishwasher, and he freaked out, and said I’m being controlling, and I don’t want him to be happy. AITAH? All our friends and family agree with him. Even my mom said I was being toxic, but I can’t tell because I have ADHD, and am drained from rescuing dogs all day, on top of everything else. Are they right? AITAH?”
It is on the subreddit r/AmItheAsshole
Really any sort of story where someone talks about how they've been wronged and they're seeking validation or commiseration from reddit. Bonus points if the story features a villain with all the traits reddit hates who antagonizes OP for no clear reason.

What is a hint that a Reddit story is fake? It's too good to be true. "My wife's boyfriend paid for my vasectomy and they got me a Nintendo Switch as a get-well gift. Then her son deleted my Zelda save with 600 hours played so I threw it against a wall." This applies to all sides. Basically someone acting exactly like the most cartoonish caricature that their opponents would paint them as.

If someone says they used to be a thing, and then they flipped, and now they're a full-throated advocate for a cause (e.g., someone who says they were a Trump voter and now they regret it). It might not be a story, but we may as well start talking about fake comments as well.
This happened in spades shortly after Trump was elected. Liberal redditors posing as ex MAGA flooded the political subs with "Guys I'm a long time Trump supporter but now that he's actually deporting people I think things have gone too far and he's bad!" It exists to tell people what they want to hear. "See guys even the Trumpers think he's gone too far!" type shit. I also think they do this because somehow they think it will maybe flip Trump voters into second guessing their support.

A redditor saw something horrifying: a woman was kidnapped in broad daylight while people simply watched.

But the way he talks is...strange. Why does he keep bringing up patriotism? Why does this feel so schizophrenic?

1000025875.png

People were cheering this kidnapping? Okay, now I know something is up. Let's just google Teresa Borrenpohl...

1000025877.png

Oh. It was some leftist maniac screaming and making a huge scene after refusing to leave a meeting she was disrupting. Now things make a lot more sense. Including the Redditor reactions.

1000025873.png

When will it all end??? And by "it" I of course mean "Republicans finally showing some backbone".

1000025872.png

You heard it here first: it wasn't event security. It was unidentified goons. Mysterious figures who leapt from the shadows and dragged her off to God knows where!

1000025874.png

And because this is Reddit, here's your Nazi reference.

Wait a minute. That second comment also brought up identification, or lack thereof. That's a weird coincidence. Unless...

1000025879.png

Okay, so it's not a coincidence. It's marching orders. But from whom?

1000025878.png

Ah.

Ah.
Weird, I remember during the Biden administration this same shit was going on with parents who were protesting books depicting explicit gay pedophile sex in school libraries.

/r/communism is a fucking Gold-mine

Again I bring up the example of the Chad Red Army veteran vs the virgin redditor.
