It's fucking infuriating watching the same Euros and leftist that for DECADES have complained about US defense spending, US getting involved in every conflict around the world, US playing world police, US sticking their nose where it doesn't belong, etc, etc suddenly do a complete 180 and without a fucking hint of irony start crying now that the US has said "enough is enough, you've neglected your own defense for so long and we're done subsidizing you." The exact same people who just a little while ago were mocking our exit from Afghanistan saying "serves you right" after we pumped how many billions of dollars into the country trying to drag people out of the grasp of a group that's arguably WORSE than fucking Russia and into something resembling modernity. Fuck them.

If you read the WHOLE Art of War instead of just bits of it it gets a lot better, and he goes in a lot deeper on what you can and can't do with the help of logistics. Also you learn that Sun Tzu is actually quite based, since he says (in more polite terms) "If your king is a retard that knows nothing about war and gives you retarded orders that will get you and your men killed, disobey him."

Yeah I'm not gonna go out on a limb and vouch it's good for war per se, but it def has enough good ideas that I didn't mind reading it back in the day in high school.

That's really not what I remember. He often talks about how the ruler will want to execute his fucking generals and how that's just the way it is. I definitely don't remember anything revolutionary from him.
