I thought this all came up months ago because his Evil Father failed to act as mail room for Dave (who can't figure out how to change his address for critical things) and didn't rush over to hand Dave his renewal/ similar paperwork?

That was last year. I imagine he’s fixed it since then, but you can never be sure with Dave.

Dave had his health insurance lapse because he failed to complete the annual renewal form. Apparently he still has mail delivered to his parents' house and is expecting them to get it to him in a timely manner. I guess spending 10 minutes to have the post office forward mail to his new address is too much of a hassle for our princess.

The court gave Dave sekrit status as a self-professed DV victim, right? And court filings go to a PO box in Jefferson City so that Dave can feel secure in an undisclosed location (which he discloses all the time on Facebook).

Maybe he routed his health insurance mail to the PO box after last year's opera but doesn't bother checking the box often - or even more Davelian - didn't pay the annual charge for the box.

TBF on Dave’s own account they kicked him out at 17 when he quit school and announced he was An Important Musical Artiste, and he did actually work as PR Director for American Atheists for years, so he hasn’t been on their tit continuously. When he jumped off the fedora tipping grift to the trans grift, it was probably in the hope that, unlike atheism, people would actually give you free money just for being Stunning and Brave, no work required. And he was right. They only supported him again because muh disabilities, but then kicked him out when he was too much to endure (such as being horrible to his little nephew). They’ve made mistakes (all parents do) but on the big things they did right: gave him an education, didn’t let him bludge at home doing guitar wank, took him in when he was unable to earn, booted him out again and, let’s not forget, pressed charges against him.

For anyone wondering about his parents’ wills, I did some research up thread and good news: Missouri law lets them fuck him over, good and hard.

Well, he might end up in jail anyway, he's already facing one set of criminal charges.

I do not know Dave beyond casually perusing this thread on occasion, but I stopped by because I do know a tiny bit about public healthcare. I'd bet twenty American dollhairs that his loss of coverage -since he mentioned he's getting it back in a few months - is totally down to him.not filling out paperwork/providing documents in a timely manner.

Losing Medicaid is easy because you need to keep up with the paperwork. Which thr average Medicaid user is too fat and lazy to do. He also could have lied about income. Or moved to a different State or County and failed to do the paperwork.

The only way Dave was on Medicare is if he has SSI disability. If he's lost Medicare he's not 65 and has had his disability status revoked. Which would be fucking hilarious.

That's more or less what I was getting at: The best chance the cat has is if Dave goes first (and hopefully not in some remote location in a crowdfunded RV; where there's less likely to be a welfare check leading to rescue). For a guy who claims to be in too poor of cardiovascular health to take progesterone, Dave sure hasn't made any efforts to improve his health, physical or mental. I imagine he blames PTSD/his dad for his inability to walk up a flight of stairs without audible bouts of incontinence while gulping air.

SS doesn't handle Medicaid.
In my state it is Dept of Health and Human Services (formally known as Dept of Public Aid).
I looked up MO and it is Missouri Department of Social Services.
Since SS is federal and Medicaid is state, I think Dave is barking up the wrong tree.

You're correct. Medicaid is funded by block grants the federal government provides to states that then run their Medicaid programs according to laws and regulations (and sometimes additional funding) they set themselves. Each state's program is a little different as a result. Some were covering genital plastic surgery for weirdos and some were not, for instance.

Social Security, funded through federal payroll taxes, has nothing to do with Medicaid.

Yesterday, I was thinking Dave must have fucked up his disability bennies from Social Security along with Medicaid and so terrorized the Social Security staff with bad music for three hours to make them comply. But now I think he's lying.

Big surprise, I know.
