The fact that dems spent the entire 90 minutes acting like petulent children
and calling it their victory and something to be proud of
and their voterbase is praising their behaviour is proof that they will undoubtedly lose 2028 elections.
They have become extremely anti-fun too. Every response to Trump being Trump is to dispatch the ugliest and least likeable stereotypes to yell at the voters:

Their party has become old people screaming "NOOOO, STOP HAVING FUN!". No fucking shit they are doing horribly with young people, who the fuck wants to join this club?

While that’s all true i meant that for the first time Bernie actually seems mad and upset. Which is new for him.
Because the entitlements he champions are actually in danger this time around. Not in danger of being scrapped, but actually remolded to become functional instead of the government slush fund that they are currently and his entire shtick is enlarging these poorly ran programs to pander to his base

For my money, the strangest part of the night was watching the dems go sour grapes so hard thart they couldn't even be moved for the cancer kid.

It has been a fucking *generation* since I saw optics this bad from a political party, and I'm old enough to remember Strom Thurmond.

And Trump, as ever, owns any public appearance, clowning on Congress with triumphant style. Still not fully used to a president who actively shitposts, kind of love it.

didn't he cut grants funding cancer research? I think actually trying to cut 4 billion or so dollars in medical research is much worse optics.

I don't want to take away the good in it but the cancer kid was an obvious optics trap that the dems fell for hook, line, and sinker. It just shows that they'll hate anything attached to Trump, even an innocent child with cancer and the Republicans can show that to everyone come midterms
No tax on tips, SSI and overtime and they just couldn't clap even if it's something their party would've loved back in the day.

Literally the most pro-worker shit I've ever heard of in a long time and they just had to keep up the act.

B-but you don't understand! Its all a deception so that Krinkle Krumpf can get rid of overtime and make you work 6 gorillion hours a week!

I think everybody's on the same page about why this kid was brought there. there are these special guests at every sotu, they're used as political props and I don't think this is going to work to convince anyone anything. Chuck Schumer also brought cancer survivors who relied on Medicaid to Trump's speech. Obviously this didn't get as much attention since dems didn't have the stage. But let's be honest for two seconds. the guy cutting cancer research probably does not care very much about people dying of cancer. I think this also plays poorly, and unlike the obvious optics trap, actually affects people.

He baited them masterfully, and they walked right the fuck into it because they’re self-centered morons.

They‘ll still call Trump stupid though. He’s somehow both a terrifying threat to Democracy™ who can change the constitution overnight, and a little, irrelevant, whining wannabe dictator who everyone laughs at and Elon is stealing from, at the same time.

and now they're pretending to give a shit about free speech
Considering one of the big takes from democrats online I've seen since last night is that the dems in the chamber should have stood and been removed/walked out, one at a time, after Al Green was removed, making the speech unwatchable for the American viewer, somehow I think their messaging and optics was a little off last night.
