On the face of it, sure. But the way this decision was handled likely opens the door to more lawfare fuckery until/unless SCOTUS finally grows a spine.

The plaintiffs represented were only “on the hook” for $250m, but the district court judge ruled the government had to immediately pay out an additional $1.75b to unrepresented parties and the original ruling basically says “pay out this cool two billi asap but that’s not the end of the issue”.

I doubt they’ll be able to lawfare full USAID funding into existence, but I’d bet anything that this decision will result in far more than a two billion dollar outlay when all the dust settles.
The decision doesn't even force them to pay the money it just forces them to clearly show the obligations of the money and if compliance is feasible. It's a punt back to the lower court to be litigated there since the SC doesn't want to do shit like usual.

The first year of Trump was miserable. Did your goldfish brain forget that? Nobody could buy a house or car. The economy he built on a foundation of bullshit crumbled at the stress of a global event. Not very strong or efficient now was it?

That it’s 3 months into Trump’s admin? Yeah, can you count? January, February, March. How many months is that?
I bought a house and a car in 2017. You didn't? What a fucking loser.

44 days equals 3 months. We've got ourselves a certified genius here, boys.

Holy fuck. Imagine paying countless millions for strategy like this. DNC, you gotta fire whoever is advising you. Put me in, coach. I’ll save the democrats and all you have to do is pay me $50 per hour and let me drone Pikers LA home.
It's a cult. There have been serious attempts by serious people to try and help the Democrats, only for the Democrats to eject them and label them a bigot of some kind. These people don't want to win, they want to bring about their "ascension."

A change of monetary policy and reserve choices. The US dollar was actually stronger from 1913 to 2025. Inflation is a disingenuous measure considering $1 from the 1870s is worth like $20 today. That’s just a consequence of having more to spend.

Literally one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen.

You've been putting out some real bangers. Soviet starvation was caused by tariffs and now inflation is actually good because there's "more money to spend".

It worked a hell of a lot better from 1789 to 1913 (-1% inflation over the whole period) than it has from 1913 to 2025 (3,122% inflation over the whole period).
The US GDP per capita in 1913 was about 4.1 times higher than in 1789. In 2010, it was about 5.8 times higher than 1913. Inflation doesn't matter as long as actual wages keep pace with inflation.

Anyone advocating for a gold standard is economically illiterate. It was abandoned for a reason, because tying your economy's growth to a commodity with limited supply is stupid. You can look at the lengthy, lengthy history of 19th century economic depressions, some of which were longer than the Great Depression, to see what I mean.
