Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

An absolute retard I know just got himself a shitbull, he has a baby son, and his gf is currently pregnant with a daughter. They also have a cat. They live in a small apartment, and the guy also has like 4 other young kids who live with his ex but come over sometimes.

Why is the current dog culture so extremely sociopathic? I know many reasons have been discussed at length ITT but it always gets me how little they care for their fellow man, and how they prioritize a soulless animal over human lives. That they’re willing to lie about being disabled just so they can bring their dog into a grocery store/restaurant/literally any fucking place you can imagine. Not to mention the bizarre obsession with walking them off-leash. I’m rarely able to even hike out in nature without being approached by an off-leash dog. It’s like they don’t care that “Sky” up there will also be out, off-leash, and ready to kill anything she encounters. Even the hardware store thing, yes dogs are encouraged but why would I risk turning down an aisle to see an out of control pit barreling towards my own dog/family?

Outside of socialization and training as a puppy, I don't see a point in bringing dogs to stores. I'd rather set up playdates with other people's dogs and have people the dog loves over. Far easier and safer. There's too much that can go wrong in a store. This is especially true for guardian breeds and high prey drive hunting breeds.

I can relate to this quite a bit. I've ended up becoming more of a cat person not because of dogs themselves, but their fucking owners. The dog is just an animal and it learns from its "master", its unfair to hate the dog for being a reflection of the owners laziness and inability to excercise any kind of responsibility. If you have a misbehaving or destructive dog, theres a 99% chance its your (the owner) fucking fault and no one elses. The 1% is accounting for the very very few cases where a dog is just wild from the get-go and can't be reigned in... but more often than not, those tend to be pitbulls. Funny that.

Yep and those instincts can only be trained out so much. I loved my dog but he was still 18 years of work. I think another problem is people don't get breeds that suit their lifestyle. An 85 year old granny does not need a Rat Terrier puppy. A single man or woman living in a one room apartment working 9 to 5 doesn't need a husky or australian shepherd. Nobody except a dog fighter needs a shitbull type dog.

My BIL got a shelter dog recently but not bc he actually wanted a dog. He just likes the idea of having a dog bc other people do. A lot of people seem to do that now.

However, you're certainly encouraged to talk about how pitbulls are a trailer park meth addict white trash dog solely owned by Trump voters. Who are all white and also bad.

Also, other sure signs of pit ownership are gold shoes, maga hats, and American flags. You're not allowed to mention any minority groups doing anything criminal with pits because that would "ruin the sub's image" as pitbull haters somehow.

I eventually got banned for saying something along the lines of "a pit could be in the middle of eating a toddler and its owner will already be on the phone with 911 crying as they report the child for animal cruelty because it's kicking and hitting the pit trying to get free." The mods deleted my comment and informed me I'd done a heckin' antisemitism and that's ew ew very yucky not okay. I still don't understand why.

TBF for a second I think that's part of the reason why r/BPB tries to toe the Reddit party line on the "fuck whitey, muh heckin' racism towards peeohsee" thing. Wanting to ban pit bulls is a very common opinion but more often than not those in power (moderators) are big pit apologists. There are many subreddits that will ban you automatically if a mod sees that you've ever posted in r/BPB and the mods claim their inboxes are constantly flooded with bullshit reports and threats from pitmommies.

This is why they're so anal about comments talking about killing pits (even in a self defense context) because those are more likely to be noticed by admins when pitmommies report them for "inciting violence." I'm honestly surprised the sub has lasted this long without the greater admins finding a reason to get it banned.

Then there was outrage because a few posters said that hopefully some one had "done the needful" to the attacking dogs.
