Brother - both of his running mates have openly talked shit about him. This man has a stand that gives everybody around him dementia so that you magically forget all the stupid retarded shit. If nixon got impeached for watergate, and clinton for getting a BJ, jan 6 has to have some sort of consequences, or else the system is busted. Which it clearly is. I would be an NPC if I just sat around while everything gets worse and acted like it's fine. Being anti-troon does not mean I'm comfortable with our country becoming an isolationist wreck that cannot support basic standards of living.
I am not a Trump guy, but mild protectionism is not the same as "isolationism".

Unfortunately optimistic. They don't really control the important part of the timetables. Assuming the tariffs lead to the hoped for results, the progression is something like;

[Tariffs](You Are Here) => [Business loses customers or profits due to higher costs] => [Business starts to build local supply chains to avoid tariffs and reduce costs] => [Local supply chains employ Americans and drive wage competition] => [More employed Americans, all employed Americans better off]

Unfortunately, that middle ground is entirely in the hands of business, and entirely dependent on their actions to get to the better off part. For some, it may only be a matter of months to move local, others may take years, or even longer. Its really circumstantial, and that middle ground will hurt the entire way.

Worth it in the long run though. Shit was gonna get worse either way, I'd rather it get worse to set the stage for a better period, than to get worse to pad NGO pockets.
Trump is not waiting for private enterprise to build the infrastructure. He already told them if they invest now they can get a head start. He is going to enact the same or larger spending than USAID did except it will be for things like building a giant fuck off nuclear power plant in the desert ringed by AI companies and other industry that can make sure of the power. He is going to hire nerds to build and live in space.

He doesn't have to justify his use of the Executive power.
Congress requires him to do so when rescinding obligated funds according to the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.

2 U.S.C. 683:

a) Transmittal of special message

Whenever the President determines that all or part of any budget authority will not be required to carry out the full objectives or scope of programs for which it is provided or that such budget authority should be rescinded for fiscal policy or other reasons (including the termination of authorized projects or activities for which budget authority has been provided), or whenever all or part of budget authority provided for only one fiscal year is to be reserved from obligation for such fiscal year, the President shall transmit to both Houses of Congress a special message specifying-

(1) the amount of budget authority which he proposes to be rescinded or which is to be so reserved;

(2) any account, department, or establishment of the Government to which such budget authority is available for obligation, and the specific project or governmental functions involved;

(3) the reasons why the budget authority should be rescinded or is to be so reserved;

(4) to the maximum extent practicable, the estimated fiscal, economic, and budgetary effect of the proposed rescission or of the reservation; and

(5) all facts, circumstances, and considerations relating to or bearing upon the proposed rescission or the reservation and the decision to effect the proposed rescission or the reservation, and to the maximum extent practicable, the estimated effect of the proposed rescission or the reservation upon the objects, purposes, and programs for which the budget authority is provided.

(b) Requirement to make available for obligation

Any amount of budget authority proposed to be rescinded or that is to be reserved as set forth in such special message shall be made available for obligation unless, within the prescribed 45-day period, the Congress has completed action on a rescission bill rescinding all or part of the amount proposed to be rescinded or that is to be reserved. Funds made available for obligation under this procedure may not be proposed for rescission again.

Can this fat orange fuck please just sit on his ass and play golf for the next four years. Don't even go in the white house. I'm so tired of the news cycle and reading about what stupid shit he's said or done this time.
Not gonna lie, former Trump supporter here. It's fucking hilarious watching him crash and burn. But in all seriousness we can't let him get his hands on the nuclear codes.

I like how the consensus I've gotten from most Dem voters online is that their party should be acting like even bigger shit-flinging raging autistic chimps. Not telling them to put their big boy pants on, have some dignity, and maybe try a different strategy. Nope. Just double down even harder on the toddler-tier tantrums cause orange man is literally killing us.

The Democratic party is completely cooked from the top on down. You could argue the average Dem voter is even more hopelessly retarded than the mongoloids they've put in office. Insane if this is genuinely the attitude of the majority of Dem voters irl or online.
The main thing I'm hearing from them is "DO SOMETHING" they dont know what that something is, they're completely like adult toddlers, they might as well just be crying, actually that might be more constructive. They just want the dems to fix everything somehow, no matter what it costs, just avengers harry potter it and make the good guys win because they just should!

I'm really worried about the risk trying to stack legal lawfare on Trumps exercise of the executive authority. There are ALOT of "laws" on the books that have never been rescinded and some of them can give the executive sweeping authority.

For example, the Insurrection Act also allows the US President to declare an improper conspiracy within his own administration and direct the use of military force to bring into subordination the civil government. Namely, Section 253 of the Insurrection Act of 1807. Very importantly, this authority is legally given to the President at his sole discretion. Fire is being played with far too readily.

Yes and no - I think we're in agreement about the same things here, the problem I'm pointing out is that you can't just Executive Order or Legislate a factory into existence, even if you throw money at it. It takes time and labor to physically assemble these things, and time and pure business to business relations to establish the new factory into the supply chain - Its not enough to build parts for wingdings from raw metal that previously were imported, you also need to convince existing wingdings assemblers to then start to buy your stock, and set up how it all gets out there.

This is all doable, and it is being done, we've seen the initial investment moves. But even unobstructed and with government support and money, this shit takes multiple years to really get moving.

It is very entertaining. I couldn't take it seriously after the crypto meme stuff. What's even funnier is that the left has been largely inept at capitalizing on this. It has truly become a retard circus for everyone involved.

If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act because he fails to follow the law of administrative procedures, then he’s an incompetent tyrant on the level of Governor Trudeau, who shut down bank accounts because people honked horns in front of Parliament.
