The people engaged in all that shit weren't really thinking about all these high minded concepts and shit when they invented or made new stuff. I'm 99% sure their thought process was something like "Oh shit! Here's something that'll make my life/work easier/cheaper! And if I market this, I'll get rich!"
Similarly with scientists, "Oh hey, here's this new thing which solves X problem! People won't have to worry about X problem anymore!"
You can say they did not predict that the development of new technologies would cause new issues to emerge in place of the old ones; hell, you may even say most humans were not ready for some technologies; the whole "futuristic thought, caveman body, lizard brain" issue that currently plagues us.

But honestly, outside of some retarded utopians, this kinda "break the wheel of fate and forever live in a post-scarcity society" is considered a fantasy by almost everyone.
And the UK's problems aren't due to people "not listening to the Wheel of Fortune" or whatever. They're basically "Not applying principles equally where they should've been applied, allowing rot to take over the machine." I.e. What happens throughout history to almost EVERY nation that falls on it's own sword. Because people were too heavily focused on extreme short-term consequences to actually think "big picture", they didn't apply the same fucking "No raping kids or we'll fucking kill you." rules to the muslims that they should've; nor did they ask themselves "gee, how many immigrants can we actually handle at a time with our current resources?" Fuck's sake, I've seen third-world nations which obey these basic fundamentals better than the UK.
There was no concentrated effort to "break the wheel", it was just "ah, it's fine. Surely these small cracks aren't a sign of a structural weakness somewhere. I can just cover them in plaster and it's all good." short-term thought.
AT BEST, I could somewhat agree that the "Great Reset" is the Rich trying to essentially "break the wheel", in the sense of "At one point, we can no longer exploit these people indirectly anymore, so we'll just have to bring in some form of neo-feudalism, but on a global scale." But even then, that's more of them being stuck in the "Fuck you, gotta get mine!" thought than actual thinking about the wheel.

Honestly. this whole thing really just smacks of Sargon trying to link almost any and every universal concept to modern day, and how everything bad is somehow thanks to liberalism, or due to leftism which was born from liberalism. It's like he doesn't understand a lot of these concepts don't apply the way he says they do (they may apply to the situation; they're universal values after all), because most people are much more focused on what they're gonna have for lunch than the knock-on effects of their actions 10 years from now.

He's a mix of crippling insecurity and a sub-avergae IQ, and most of the cognitive functioning he can squeeze out of his 90 points is entirely dedicated to posing and coping.

But not really though. The entire concept of whig history, the end of history and almost everyone who talks about being on "The right side of history" is refering to this concept, conciously or not.

There IS a common belief held among a lot of people that "history is solved, we're living after history" or at the very least that we are approaching the end of history.

I can understand some of their criticisms on a surface level but my God this is the most bad faith interpretation I've ever seen.
