Re: new study in Journal of Sexual Medicine. I need the whole paper to assess what the researchers are doing. The abstract talk about "cohorts" but it doesn't look like a cohort study to me, but rather a retrospective case-control study. Case-control studies cannot ascertain causations, so if the study is indeed that type, one cannot conclude that "surgery doubled depression". And I don't see the before surgery - after surgery comparison in the abstract.
