My dad is pretty conservative and the other night was raving about Trump withdrawing Ukraine aid, you know the typical "Good, it's not our country so we shouldn't be involved" sort of thing. I tried explaining to him that is a bad thing because it means we are kowtowing to Russia and letting them establish power over us and our allies while simultaneously betraying our other foreign allies, and he looked at me as if I was retarded.

The funny thing to me about all the restrictions on the Japanese is they seemed so unnecessary. Growing up way past WWII, my only impression of them is they are super nice, the most polite people in the world. "Signing" a document with a scanned and copy/pasted signature invalidates legal documents because there's no way to tell if you actually signed them (and in fact, you didn't).
