it's so limited in retarded ways that it doesn't actually appeal to anyone.
Thats like VOIP in general.

Previous job used Mitel in a onsite pbx at first. That shit was Egyptian hieroglyphics and anything beyond the most basic of changes had me calling up Mitel for support. Eventually we switched over to a cloud pbx but it was 100% geared towards call center use so was while a very modern interface and worked very well for call center related tasks you ran into problems if you wanted to do many of the basic tasks Mitel could do.

Current job uses a cloud pbx geared towards general business use and overall its okay. Worse thing about it is using proprietary terms for common pbx features and the janky admin website.

As usual CRD does some completely out of place political-sperging about evil capitalism near the end of his video.

The points he makes are totally retarded, as always. Apparantly Microsoft are evil because they didn't try to compete with themselves with a shitter product then what they already had. Something-something evil capitalism.

At least that argument is slightly less retarded then the time he went on a 5 minute rant about how capitalism is evil because it's demand for better products meant we kept improving computing beyond Palm Pilots and 2007 Dell office machines "which is all anybody needs".

I mean, you should expect that sort of crap from a video titled as a nod to a UK state plant.
(Sidenote: hbomberguy's got sharkeyes like they're running a teleprompter of all the footage of him they're going to release if he steps out of line)

I remembered this fiasco. I'm not that big into retro computing so I thought it was funny the amount of screeching that erupted from a couple videos. Who gives a flying fuck about decades old machinery that nearly everyone has desperately wanted to move on from? We have it good now.
It's like collecting classic cars, but for nerds. Computers make up such a massive part of modern society that their history is well worth preserving.

I haven't watched it yet but I hope he's not actually using that early revision Apple IIe for the IIGS conversion. Those things in that good of shape are genuinely rare by Apple II standards.
The conversion isn't really destructive either. He's still sitting on the case and motherboard as a result. The only things that went to the IIgs was the PSU and keyboard.

I think you missed the part where I said I wasn't big on retro-computing. How is this supposed to make me give a fuck?
deliberately am now mad.jpg

I wish he would change the hwite balance in his videos. Every time I watch his content I get a bit stressed because of that weird hospital feel.
He's been doing youtube since the 240p era, so I wouldn't be surprised if he settled on his lighting and color grading choices back then in order to make things more clear in the grainy low-res video of early youtube. The fact that he hasn't changed them since then is probably due to a combination of laziness and autistic fixation.

In one of the videos where he's building his filming shed, he says how much he hates warm lights. I think he just likes cold harsh lighting for some reason.

tbh I find it refreshing that David is sticking with the harsh lighting. I'd rather watch a brightly lit video than one with that soft purple lighting that so many YouTubers use these days.

I've tried neutral lighting once. Felt like I was in a hospital. Since then I've stuck with warm lighting, it feels warm and cozy and makes a house feel like a home.
I don’t know what people think is so cozy about yellow, and I don’t really like it. Same with the light adjustment apps like flux, why the hell would I want to look at my screen like it’s being shown through a yellowed piece of clear plastic?
