Shaun and Jen's justification for using a skull as his avatar is that he's "reclaiming the skull", kind of like how The Mary Sue named themselves after one of the nadirs of fiction to "reclaim" the term. Shaun and Jen did that as a direct result of being an hbomberguy fan.

C'mon, hbomberguy is a lolcow now? I try to avoid the politics on this site because inevitably I'm gonna disagree with most of you but this is silly. Despite all the jokes he's always been pretty sincere in his videos and his arguments are well sourced and reasoned. I haven’t read the whole thread but most of this seems to amount to 'he holds political views different to mine'.



The only lolcowish behaviour you could accuse him of is his edgy contrarian opinions on apolitical subjects like his defence of No Mans Sky which boils down to 'it’s great because it immerses you in the feeling of being bored'. But attention seeking on that level is par for the course with internet personalities.

I don't know, someone who uses the term sjews and accuses others of being obsessed for making videos on a popular topic doesn't seem sincere or well reasoned to me.

Not trying to be Hbomber's internet defence force but the Sjew thing is just a running joke about the alt right being antisemitic, and how 'cultural marxism' was a nazi euphemism for Jews. He always cites his real arguments (with actual peer reviewed acedamia!) and kind of demonstrated how completely baseless and assine most the youtube intelectuals are.

He's also made a point of never committing more than two or three videos on a single topic or individual. Like unless he were to stop engaging with politics altogether I don't know how he could do it in a more measured way.

With the exception of Aurini, none of the people he talks about are alt right and the alt right are hardly the only people to use that term (they didn't even originate it). Sargon isn't (he made an entire video criticising the alt right), Thunderf00t isn't (Thunderf00t didn't support Trump or Brexit). It's just a way of lumping everyone he disagrees with into one camp.

Also, I hate to backseat mod and I'm biased because this is my thread, but this isn't the place to argue about whether hbomberguy's a lolcow or not. If you want to do that, go over to Thread Watch and complain there, or PM a mod. Don't derail this thread with arguments. This thread was featured yesterday and hasn't been locked, so for now it's a valid lolcow thread. I laid out my reasons for considering hbomberguy a lolcow in the OP and most people agree they're sufficient grounds for giving him a thread. If you don't like that, feel free to go elsewhere. Arguing whether he's a lolcow or not in the thread at this stage isn't productive - it's just derailing.

Well in that case would you prefer ideas/input on how to milk the lolcow? If that's the case I recommend giving him a dose off his own medicine, pointing out all his flaws and exaggerating them in the traditional internet fashion. Just my take on the topic though.

Lolcow threads aren't really attack threads or personal army requests (for the most part). We're just here to watch and laugh. I think screencapping stupid stuff from his Twitter and analysing his media output (as we have already) should be sufficient.

Kind of... his humour style is actually a rip-off of another guy who does gaming videos called Caddicarus. Here's one of Caddicarus's videos. Compare it to one of hbomberguy's and tell me the humour isn't suspiciously similar:

hey dude, he's a lowcow he's not funny and he has a huge ego,the only time he is funny is when he fucks up which is all the time.

On the advice of @proteus4994 I decided to check out the LP archive to see if I could find anything. hbomberguy's only done one LP of Alone in the Dark (the 2008 version). He might've collaborated with other people on other LPs, but I haven't found them yet.

All the video links on that page are dead, except for the ones in the Outtakes section. I did find this though:

It's him ridiculing another LPer called 666theheartless666, who I've literally never heard of before, but is apparently quite popular.
