on the whole "iran doesn't do any heckin terrorisms in the west" thing
you guys have it backwards. there are lots of groups trying to do terrorisms all the time, they mostly get stopped.
there's two kinds of terrorism: sudden jihad syndrome is the one that's recognized as terrorism because the connection to an ideology is clear, but the incel version and black rage version is the same. An individual goes crazy after reading too many mean words on the internet and stabs women/drives a truck of peace into a Christmas market/kills a white baby. This isn't organized so surveillance can't stop it.
The second kind is organized. Anything involving more than one person is organized, but one person can also do something organized (Timothy McVeigh or Stephen Paddock for example). In the current world, in western europe and the US, it is not possible for this to happen unless it is allowed to happen.
Sunni terrorism is occasionally permitted in the West, Shia terrorism is not. Why? I dunno. But I do know that it's impossible for Bataclan, the Manchester Arena bombing, the Mandalay Bay shooting, basically anything involving either more than one person or large quantities of weapons after the Oklahoma City bombing, to have been planned and carried out without the glowies knowing it was gonna happen.
