Also you could legitimately make them human by being humorous and not always going on about their degenerate lifestyle. They were willing to take the piss back then. This current generation of true believers, however, are such zealots they cannot view themselves as anything but "perfect" (including their fetishes), so making gay jokes is akin to genocide.

One of the strongest and boldest things (which is simultaneously humble and brave) a person can do is being capable of laughing at oneself. People who can't do that are usually really bitter and narcissistic, aiming to spread their bitterness onto others, poisoning and suffocating everyone on their way.

I saw this Family Guy clip earlier today and was reminded of how surprisingly bold they were of not only having Chris genuinely wanting to date a downie, but outright make her antagonistic towards him in this episode.

I get it's Family Guy and it's supposed to be low brow, insensitive humor, but this moment always stuck out to me since you would be hard pressed to find ANY other show outright willing to make a mentally disabled character evil since it's like having the Troon Shield up that gives you sacred cow status; immune to any criticism and unwilling to show nuance and negatives in a person despite their minority status. And honestly I can't say I ever seen that many cartoons let alone shows of characters wanting to date people with down syndrome either. Maybe South Park had something similar with Timmy and Jimmy (no not in a gay way fag), but this episode was the first that really stuck with me.

Extremely funny in hindsight to watch all the DEI projects that were green lighted during BLM in 2020 crash and burn as Disney is faced with it's own hubris.

Just one look at the lead writer and you could already tell we missed out on a masterpiece of black girl magic, grease included.

Also, everytime Ducktales is mentioned, I'm reminded of the bald soyjack creator tweeting this about the character supposedly inspired by his daughter. 2020 was a fever dream.

I've always seen Mrs. Leah MacGrady as Hispanic. Couldn't tell you why, that's why using her as a mouthpiece for St. Floyd never made sense to me.
