I thought the leftist argument was that policies to bring down inflation, and fix the economy takes years to even decades to take action, which is why they argued 8 years after Obama and Trump becoming president was when Obama's policies finally kicked in. Now you're arguing that Trump could have fixed the economy by one day? Which is it?
And for what it is worth, Biden made the right call. The problem is that they were not honest about the price increases, literally telling people that up was down. But now it is a huge deal because Trump.
I had to mark down my eggs 50% because they were not selling at 8.95 and are about to go out of date(i don't set the price points corporate does, the only time i'm allowed to change prices is due to damage or close to shelf life exp.) If people don't buy at these high prices they will come down.

I don't think any politician has actually tried this. The closest we ever got was Jimmy Carter's malaise speech where he told Americans they can't expect to blast their AC, put 100k miles on their cars every year, and also have low energy prices amidst an oil supply crisis. His error was making it a sermon rather than just going "hey guys, this is what's going on," and giving a shrug.

The economy is a mess. I can't speak for others but I have expected things to get worse before they can get better and appreciate that Trump and his administration are at least attempting to right the ship instead of sailing into oblivion as quickly as possible. Eggs are up because of inflation and murder. No one else would fix that sooner than Trump.
I've had a (conspiracy) theory for a while that Biden and his ilk want to crash this plane with no survivors because they think the whole thing is fucked after 2008. They think the only way to fix it is a reset, but of course they want to make themselves as comfortable as possible before the button gets pressed. Between 2016 and 2020, Trump was actually fixing things and proving that the crash course was a liberal self-fulfilling prophecy. Rather than accept this and lose their chance at being neo-feudal lords, they ousted Trump and continued the damage.
