Sorry, I don't have much more information than what I gave...but there are some definite costs involved with running a helicopter ambulance service that would be harder to write off than something like the labor costs of an ER technician. Fuel, certifications, fleet maintenance, 24/7 staff comprised of pilots and EMTs, and in the case of a "Nevermind, they don't need Life Flight after all" potentially wasted time they could have spent getting a "full payday" actually taking a patient to another hospital.
