The Anime within Anime video and History of Akihabara video are pretty good and standout to me.
Those and the Akiyuki Shinbo video are okay because they're just summarizing obscure facts. Still, they're chocolate chips in a pile of crap, so they're covered in crap -- the crap being Digi's inability to do anything more meaningful than regurgitate information and share opinions.
Me also think that another reason why he had a lot of followers at the time was because of his psychology and what he thought, this can be seen in his After Dark channel but also some slipups with May and his brother at the time
How is that interesting? One of the worst things about Digi are those incredibly self-absorbed, navel-gazing rants. It's so narcissistic and only impressive to idiots who have such little personality they need it filled in by someone with marginally more personality -- but then, considering anitube's fanbase is made up of people who need their opinions validated by someone else and overly-sensitive, thin-skinned people that you had to walk on eggshells to make a top 10 list at one point, I'm not surprised they would flock to that.

Because it's interesting to see how someone think/act/work, etc, there is a reason why lolcows became a popular niche online for more or less the same reasons, a documentation of their retardness. Long before people thought he was gonna troon or become one, people theorized he was going to fall, or "crash out" as the kids say.

They watched it because it was gonna happen, just when was the question, and it did. I believe most of those videos are lost now (unless Digi still has them up), but for the ones that are up you can see it happen

Nah, the people who used to watch his anime content and also financially supported him 100% weren't just hatewatching him.
Otherwise his actual crash moment, trooning out and totally shifting his content, wouldn't have reduced his viewership to nothing. Everytime a lolcow, who's following is actually just hatewatchers, has such a crash moment their popularity, at least temporarily, spikes.

Pre-troonout his comments and like ratio was positive. He has unprivated all of his older content, his channel is just named Trixie the Golden Witch instead of Digibro, so you can go look at it yourself. People were watching him because they liked him, not because they were waiting for him to implode.

I wasn't saying people only watched him because of hate watching. Obviously, people watched him because of his anime takes and anime content when he did actual videos and he was known for that.

What I was saying is that even before he did crash out, a decent amount of his fans were theorizing what might happen since he was a narcissistic ass and this was more of the case especially after Mumkey got kicked and him burning a lot of bridges, like when Geoff said they were friends and Digi replied back "we aren't". Alot of stuff from his after dark channel and little hints when talking about May or his brother made people theorize and speculate what might happen (I personally remember something like he might be abusive to May). Realistically I don't think anyone in 2018 would've guessed him permanently ruining his channel and becoming trans

There were detractors but most weren't former fans. The ones on Kiwifarms were horrified by his open pedophilia and most others were just pissed of Mumkey Jones Fans.
This assertion that his hardcore fanbase was speculating about his downfall is just nonsense. Those fans were leaving due to his content shift towards unscripted podcasts and rants and totally evaporated after he decided he wasn't gone be an anituber anymore.
him burning a lot of bridges, like when Geoff said they were friends and Digi replied back "we aren't".
Lol, hardcore anime fans online have always been calling Mother's Basement a shill, if anything Digi openly joining in and beefing with all those more algorithm friendly anitubers gained him fans.

Oh yeah, it was known then, but Geoff thought Digi and him were friends. That time had a lot of shills within the anime sphere. Off the top of my head I remember Lootcrate, The Pedantic Romantic, Glass reflection, and others were known for that stuff. Digi was more open about calling out others for being shills, even if Digi himself was slowly starting to become a shill later in his career (albeit nowhere as cucked as the others) and started to erk some of his fans because of it

Geoff thought they were friends, Digi (maybe rightfully) resented him for making a career out of plagiarizing and then endlessly recycling his SAO talking points and also being a soy/shill.
Even if they wanted to write this all off as jealousy, Geoff, Gigguk, and the other people he called out clearly did get spooked by him calling them sloptubers.

I mean when did the Weed/May Arc start + his streams where he started arguing with fans? Was it Mid 2018 or Mid 2017?

As soon as he kept talking about weed the whole time like a teenager + uploading his brain fried takes when he was high, I knew the guy was a goner - that's around the time I got off the digi bandwagon.

The trans stuff also wasn't a huge suprise, as he has admitted to crossdressing and masturbating while wearing his mother's underwear prior around 2014/2015 ish.

Geoff thought they were friends,
Geoff would call any semi-big anituber a friend because he is a conflict averse soyboy. The depth of his friendship with Digibro was them being on the same anime convention panel 3 or 4 times max and a bunch of random twitter banter between the two.
He admitted this? I thought this was something only close friends knew.
I have seen that claim a bunch of time by now but I don't think I have ever seen video proof of it. Wouldn't surprise me thou. He did say in one of the Old Ass Anime Cast videos that he looked really effeminate as a kid.

I'd like to see proof myself if anyone has

and I remember him talking about pics of him as a kid "If you looked at it at your desk people would think you were looking at CP"

Quick update:

-Digi finally moved out of his parents house after freeloading there for over a year.
-Digi & Bird, together with his youngest brother Shade & his girlfriend, are now going to split rent to live in Victor and Hope's house.
-In a recent stream Digi clarified that he has to pay 900 bucks a month to live there, otherwise him and Bird will be kicked out.
-Vic mentioned in a recent video that he's broke as hell so him and his wife decided to downsize and rent a place since he's been struggling to find work as a camera-man/film guy since the industry has been heavily fucked by a multitude of factors.

Some sources:

Does he have that type of money? Half of that is probably going to be spent on weed
Bird has a regular job so I assume both him and Digi further split the 900$ payment down the line. In another stream, Digi broke down how much he typically makes and it rounds up to about 850$ a month, but there are ups and downs.

The breakdown of how much money he makes is in this stream, at 02:50:56

Question to any fans. They you enjoy his ventures out side of anime reviews, he just seems so out of his element when he talks about anything thing else but he seems to think he's a some great intellect
Digi is relatively clueless outside of anime, which is why he stirred a lot of shit in whatever subject he claimed to be an expert on. I would sometimes listen to some of Digi's rant videos about certain topics, but I always came away from them thinking that Digi was talking out of his ass or used hyper specific examples to come to a conclusion.
