Buddy,If you been in this thread or any other artist career cow thread you know when it comes to making purdy pictures that ““““somewhat”””” comes with heavy usage of quotation marks. The Animation Industry doesn’t have the Olympic record of the Longest title holder of the “fell for it again” award for nothing. Walt Wasn’t a tismo,but he actively surrounded himself with them. Maybe Lantz and definitely Iwerks were though.

I've always seen Mrs. Leah MacGrady as Hispanic. Couldn't tell you why, that's why using her as a mouthpiece for St. Floyd never made sense to me.

As for the other point, the first thing that comes to mind is the different ungulates that were in MLP. But the usual crowd were all like “Noooo zebras and buffalo are raycis!”

A lot of toonautists give Lantz Flack for “stealing Oswald” and being a greedy Sonavabitch (literally me once again) but the man clearly loved cartoons and he loved making them. He was an innovator and a craftsman.

Francine and Brain are characters on Arthur, which the thread is talking about. Everyone in the Arthur universe is an animal, but some animals are black people (like Brain's family, I think, because they celebrate Kwanzaa.)

The promo pic doesn't do the actual colors justice, in the show Francine and Muffy (both monkeys) are very different colors:

But I don't think it's meant to imply Francine is black, since her family is canonically Jewish:

But fwiw I always assumed Francine and her family were black and Jewish, like Sammy Davis Jr. I'm not sure off the top of my head if there are any characters in Arthur with the afro-textured hair, though, which I guess would be the only actual way to tell if a character is supposed to be black in Arthur.

The IRL celebrity characters are fucking unholy in the funniest way, there's the one I remember used in memes nearly a decade back now (though it doesn't feel like that long) where he's like a rabbit with a super fucking nightmare real human face for no apparent reason other than so you can go "IT'S THE GUY"!
EDIT: I can't find that one cause I can't remember who "the guy" was but it was some music artist.

About a year before floyd happened, or maybe two I don't 100% remember right, a friend and I were making jokes about arthur shit only for us to find out it was one of those zombie shows that kept going despite people only ever talking about the earlier seasons. It was before ratburn got reroactively made canonically gay like the one writer tried doing with bert and ernie before frank oz stepped in and said "no you fuckhead i made them they aren't gay" in much more polite words.
